His talk is titled "Management of critical asset infrastructure at a hospital group – A case study". The management of critical asset infrastructure requires greater care than typical assets. At hospitals, critical assets include diesel generators, heating and ventilation systems, uninterruptable power systems (UPS), fire detection, water storage and supply, electrical distribution and medical systems like medical air and oxygen. To maintain the required high availability of these critical assets, timely response to serious reported failures is crucial. To minimise maintenance costs, a data driven long term predictive maintenance strategy are also required. Typically, hospitals are located across the country. In this paper, for the UPS critical asset, we present a case study in the development and deployment of a centralised software-based monitoring and maintenance strategy. This strategy has led to high availability and lower maintenance costs of the critical assets. This promises to be a very enlightening and informative talk.
