Last week in Nashville was an absolute blur - I had the opportunity to 1) intellectually debate evidence in #pediatric Eyecare with the AOA evidence based optometry committee 2) represent the VIRGINIA OPTOMETRIC ASSOCIATION INC and carry our state flag as the VOA President at the House of delegates and be partnered with Meghan Elkins, OD, FAAO for our grand ballroom tour 3) I gave 9 lectures on topics including #eyepain with Jade Coats, OD and Cory Lappin, OD, MS, FAAO, headaches and cervicogenic eye pain with Nathan Zasler and Sara Etheredge, ticks and Lyme disease with Andrew Morgenstern, OD, FAAO, FNAP and give a humblingly packed lecture about oculomotor dysfunction in brain injury and its relation to detection of violence, in one of my missions to increase awareness of #domesticviolence in our chair as well as how to modify your eye exam for patients with #ptsd I had the wonderful opportunity to dine and network with colleagues from across the country and enjoy the beauty of Nashville in June… which my double 5k at 6am proved to be incredibly swarmy Thank you to everyone I met with and every single person who attended my lectures, I love to learn and pass it on. What’s up next?? I lecture on neurologic dry eye in July for Canadian based AOE, I’ll be giving a webinar for the Brain Injury Association of America in August, and then I’ll be back in Nashville in September for MODlive!
