Congratulations to our Victorian team for winning two awards at Property Council Victoria’s 2024 People in Property Awards. Alun Welsh, Digital Engineering Manager, was the recipient of the ‘Tech in Property’ Award. Alun won this award for his digital-first approach, building 3D Virtual Reality (VR) prototypes for Sunshine Private Hospital and Latrobe Regional Hospital Stage 3A projects. This fostered improved collaboration among project stakeholders, expedited design approvals, championed sustainability best practices and saved time and money for our clients. Our Latrobe Regional Hospital Stage 3A project team were the winners of the ‘Regional Team of the Year’ Award. The delivery team relocated from Melbourne to Traralgon for the two-year project. To optimise delivery and address supply chain disruption, the team developed an early planning strategy to manage procurement and lead times, where they achieved a 30% local labour rate. Today, Hanwha Defence Australia celebrated the handover of the Hanwha Armoured vehicle Centre of Excellence (H-ACE), from construction partner Built.   In partnership with veteran owned and operated contract manager Conscia and construction partner Built, Stage 1 of the H-ACE facility was completed to an unrivalled quality standard, over 2 and a half months ahead of schedule.   Over the course of construction, all parties demonstrated their commitment to the Geelong region by exceeding Indigenous content and local procurement targets.   “This is a historic moment,” said Hichang Lee, HDA’s Facilities Director. “I want to acknowledge the HDA Facilities team and thank all our partners including Conscia and Built. I look forward to another historic day when we produce our first Australian made vehicle.”   The H-ACE facility it set to commence production of the Huntsman family of vehicles later this year, delivering next generation capability to our customer. Built is approaching the completion of Stage 1 of the Hanwha Armoured vehicle Centre of Excellence (H-ACE) for Hanwha Defence Australia. Once complete, H-ACE will support multiple capability programs, including delivery of the Huntsman family of Self-Propelled Howitzers (SPH) and Armoured Ammunition Resupply Vehicles (AARV. Working with Contract Manager Conscia, digital engineering has been integral to this project, eliminating delivery risks and potential defects to future-proof the 15 acre site and ensure production readiness later this year. “Digital Engineering has been front of mind since the early stage of the project and has been an invaluable tool in ensuring we’re meeting the detailed requirements of Hanwha. It’s critical that our international partners can visualise the nuances between our Australian facility and the facilities we’re replicating internationally to ensure a smooth transition to the production phase.” said Sam Majer, Built Project Manager. We’re thrilled to announce our appointment as construction partner for the Barwon Women’s and Children’s project, where the Victorian Government has committed more than $500 million. Built is proud to announce that we have been appointed as construction partner to deliver the final stage of the $595 million #BallaratBaseHospital redevelopment in Victoria. The redevelopment will deliver a new emergency department, a women and children’s hub, state-of-the-art theatre suite and an extra 100 inpatient and short stay beds. A new and expanded critical care floor will bring together operating theatres, procedure rooms, an expanded intensive care unit, endoscopy suites and consulting rooms. This will deliver capacity for an additional 4,000 surgeries every year. Once completed in 2027, the upgraded hospital will have the capacity to treat at least 18,000 more emergency patients and an extra 14,500 inpatients per year. Built are proud to have recently completed 480 Swan Street Richmond, our sixteenth project for long-time client Charter Hall and home to anchor tenant Australia Post. By taking control of the digital environment at the project onset, Built and our project partners were able to plan the most effective design and buildability solutions before the 12-storey, 32,000sqm commercial and retail development took physical form. “Given that the design was in its early stages during the schemetic phase, digital engineering tools were utilised to expedite the design process.
