Sir Jack leaves the world with an incredible legacy. He will be truly missed by the hundreds of thousands of people who's lives Sir Jack and his programmes through the foundation have impacted. He was truly a remarkable man and his legacy lives on through the foundation and through the lives of the people he has impacted. Without the Speak Out Challenge & Glee Club Challenge I certainly wouldn't be where I am today. Thank you Sir Jack. Sending thoughts and prayers to Sir Jack's family and loved ones and everyone at the JPF.

I was lucky enough to meet Jack when seeking funding to support a project in East London. Jack grilled me for sure, and I left that meeting certain that I’d blown it! What followed was Jack, Ron and Trudie supported the project for years with funds, resources and enthusiasm. In my experience he was at his happiest seeing young people growing through speaking out, and vocational skills development. He did, literally change thousands of lives for the better. A special man leaving a special legacy.

Deepest condolences to his family and friends, such sad news 🙏🏾 I received 2 Jack Petchey Awards in my teens, over 20 years ago - those awards gave me the realisation that the parts of my personality that some deemed "too much/too loud" were actually valuable talents that could help change the world one day. It was the recognition I needed, to keep going, even though I felt so different to everyone around me. I still hold those awards so dearly, so many years later. Sir Jack Petchey, your work lives on. You changed lives ✨

Only this week our daughter in her first year at secondary school achieved her first ever Jack Petchey Award. She was so proud and excited. He touched more people than he ever thought possible. May his good work continue to live on his memory. 🙏🏾

I was so saddened to hear of Sir Jacks passing. One of my proudest moments was receiving a Jack Petchey outstanding services to young people award, after being nominated by Girlguiding Greater London West County. The funds were used to develop a skills builder camp, encouraging girls to better understand the soft skills they develop through volunteering and how this can support them to rise in a career. This follows the ethos of Sir Jack, that every young person has potential, they just have to have the space and opportunity to find it. What a legacy. RIP.

An inspirational man who has made an unforgettable impact on young people's lives. He will always be remembered and missed by so many.

Almost 10 years ago now I won the Jack Petchey SpeakOut Challenge for the London borough of Croydon with my speech titled “I Am Black”, and my life was forever changed. A whole new world was opened up to me. I was truly able to believe that my voice mattered. Not only was I given the opportunity to speak about the impact of racism on my life, I was heard. For a young Black girl to be heard on such a stage felt unreal. But I was. I will be forever grateful for Sir Petchey’s creation of the Speakers Trust and the positive impact it had on my life. Rest in peace Sir Petchey. 🤍

An incredible man and an incredible legacy. When I worked for the Jack Petchey Foundation I saw first hand the incredible impact they have on every young person they work with, and on London and Essex in general, all sprouted from the vision of Sir Jack and his mantra #ifyouthinkyoucanyoucan. Thinking of his family and those at the Foundation at this difficult time.
