Global Chief Privacy & AI Governance Officer, Wipro | Visiting Cybersecurity & Privacy executive Fellow, Pamplin Business School, Virginia Tech | Author, An Artificial Revolution: on Power, Politics and AI
Today I had the honour of addressing the UN Women Assembly in NY, and talk privacy, equality and AI. It is entirely right to talk privacy, which is a profoundly collective topic in the apex institution of the world, the United Nations. I made three main points: 1. AI brings enormous opportunity but only if women are in the driving seat. 2. As AI increasingly fuels our societies, we must foster a stronger link between privacy and equality. We also need to think about real consent, as women know it. 3. We must tackle the digital divide as it worsens exclusion. Any talk of AI as a magical solution fails to consider the reality of digital exclusion. Hi, Ivana, Congrats! By the way, could we publish your speech on The Yuan? Best, Xin Zhou
Since my Ph. D is relevant to Market Research on AI with Entrepreneurship, would like to add a Gender equality statement in point one. ‘ AI brings enormous opportunity but only if women are in the driving seat. ‘ irrespective of which ever Gender across 3 AI skill set is required to optimize the usage and identify pragmatic solution. Eventhough the assembly is UN women, unless we create equality across genders men/women and transgenders the scenario won’t change.
WONDERFUL!! And we must include investing proportionately in women led companies and in protections for AI/ML and other new technology solutions. How can a firm invest 10 BILLION in AI but less than 10 Million in a Privacy encryption/ tokenization/ obsfucation service for that same platform in the same year? The math does not check out.
Always love listening to you and your views! Thanks for being such a strong advocate of all things right, for women and for privacy
You are such a rockstar and so glad to have you as a partner on equitable AI!!
Congratulations . This is really great and 3 points are relevant for the society needs and / or for an organization .
Impressive. Well done.
Loved the speech, thanks for sharing.
