🚨 Important Regulatory Update for Advertisers and Agencies 🚨 The Supreme Court of India has issued a directive requiring all advertisements, across all mediums, to submit a Self Declaration Certificate prior to publication. Starting June 18th, no advertisement will be permitted to be published without this. The portal starts from 4th June, with obtaining the Self Declaration Certificate from either the Broadcast Seva Portal or the Press Council of India's Portal. The Advertiser/Agency will have about 2 weeks to get familiar with the process. Key points the on the Self-Declaration Certificate: · The advertisement does not contain misleading claims · The certificate confirms compliance with regulatory guidelines, including Cable TV Network Rules and Press Council of India norms. This came after the The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has clarified that beverages based on dairy, cereals or malt should not be labelled as 'health' or 'energy' drinks. Which also points to the direction of misleading claims on advertisements. In my opinion this is a great step towards better transparency and will help in controlling the misleading claims circulating across the web by a major difference.
