I'm honored and continue to be excited about all that we're doing. Joining EPOC Real Estate in 2020, I was the 8th head to join. We owned under 100 homes at the time and had under $9M AUM. Jump to today, we've grown to 17 heads with over $80M AUM and own over 800 homes. We are a small team doing very big things. I'm thrilled to be a part of an amazing, smart and talented team. Congratulations to Jeremy Dean and his colleagues at riders&elephants for another impactful year of enhancing emotional self-awareness and the understanding of “emotional culture” in organizations around the world with R&E’s Emotional Culture Deck and other resources! As Jeremy says, “A high-performing culture exists not in the absence of emotions, but in the mastery of emotions.” Without an understanding of how emotions impact decisions and behaviors, we can’t be fully effective in driving positive change—as individuals, teams, or organizations.  Earlier this year, I joined my colleague, Maren Gube, PhD, as a certified Elephant Rider Practitioner; and I’m proud to be part of this engaging community and trained in facilitation techniques that inspire candor, connection, and growth.  Maren and I help individuals and teams enhance their emotional literacy and their connections by incorporating R&E’s tools and techniques into our workshops, covering a range of topics touched by emotional culture—including building resilience and thriving, burnout and stress management, ethical leadership, creating speaking-up cultures, leading effective teams, multigenerational collaboration, and others.  If you’re interested in learning more about our work, please check out our Resiliti website (https://www.resiliti.com). 4 months... What started as countless car rides and late-night drinks with Lode Vochten is now celebrating its four-month milestone. For years, I’ve been searching for the right words to explain what we aim to achieve, our purpose, and where communication is heading. And I’ve always failed ... Then yesterday, I stumbled upon this stand-up set by the wunderkind Josh Johnson. My immediate reaction? "F*** me." This kid not only articulated my beliefs better than I ever could but also managed to bash Drake while proving how Kendrick unites all the LA subcultures. So, let me give it another shot. At Defiant, our mission is to bridge the gap between brands and culture through communities. Cultural relevance is our main KPI, and we strive to give back to these communities. Our goal isn’t about headcount, net worth, or flashy offices. No, we want to impact culture and communities through the right brands... and have fun doing it. Whether it’s collaborating with the lads at Koolisse Media, our amazing founding client at bonsai (shout out to JULIE CLAUTIER and Gill Otte), Guilherme Nunes and his amazing new design studio BROTO, the wonderful Geert Van Mol, or teaming up with Gauthier Elslander, Karel Vinck and Finch Collective, fun is always part of the equation. Kaitlin has been absolutely incredible at handling strategic communications and brand execution with our clients.
