They not only laid underground utilities in one of the world's oldest cities despite the complex layers of unrecorded networks but also adopted a humanitarian approach to address concerns. The team used the approach of working when the city sleeps and clearing up when the city wakes up, making the project stand as an example of how to minimise disruptions to daily life. MALOLOS STAKEHOLDERS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT On September 25-26, the DAP-Center for Strategic Futures engaged the people of Malolos in a Design Sprint, a Design Thinking activity. Malolos stakeholders, smart city players, and representatives from the local government gathered to collaboratively generate and prototype solutions for the identified gaps and challenges in Malolos City, gathered from its Smart City assessment earlier this year. The goal of the program was to encourage creativity and empathic problem-solving to produce innovative and human-centered solutions. These will play a part in the creation of Malolos City's Smart City roadmap. The two-day workshop was led by DAP-CSF in partnership with the DAP PDC Innolab and the City Government of Malolos.
