Contemporary Abstract Artist. Original art. Lisbon art. Abstract art for homes and commercial spaces. Worldwide shipping. Commissions open.
Art commissions can be pure joy or a complete torture. But first thing first. How do you get art commissions? 1️⃣ Paint. Seems obvious but you’d be surprised. You need to produce enough work to be able to show what you make. No one will book a commission from you if they don’t know your artistic style and fall in love. ❤️ 2️⃣ Make it known. Not every artist offers commissions. Some artists don’t like them, some do only commissions. So if you want people to know you offer it, you got to let them know about it. On your website, social media, friends and family… don’t assume it is obvious. 3️⃣ Sales tactics. Commissions can be a result of someone loving your work but not finding the right size or colours for what they are looking for. Engage in conversations when people show interest in your art, and if it makes sense, offer a commission as an alternative. They may say no now but return later with a yes. Back to the torture now 😆- Commissions are typically required because someone adores your work already and wants something for their space in a certain size, colours etc. But! Sometimes people think your role as an artist is to paint whatever THEY want, like their dog, or a tree. If that’s not your thing, think hard if you really want to go down that route. Because you might end up hating every second of the process and yourself for saying yes. 😔 I stay loyal to my art and I say no when something like this comes along. Not often but it does. It’s important to make that clear when someone inquires about your commission process. If you’re an art collector, there are important things you should know about art commissions too, but that’s a whole other caption. Let me know if you have questions about commissions👇🏻 This is all to let you know my lovely collector from London approved the colour palette for this 100x100cm commission and I’m super excited to get started!!! 🤩 Have you ever commissioned art from an artist? Or why not, if you haven’t? #artcommission #artcommissions #artcollect #customisedart #artbusinesstips #commissionedart

Pricing is awkward. Setting a price on something that is so deeply personal and doesn't have a set market value is even more awkward. As an artist, pricing your artwork can be a daunting task. You've poured your heart and soul into creating something unique, but how do you determine its true worth? Striking the right balance between undervaluing and overpricing is crucial for both artistic and financial success. By following these seven rules, you can confidently price your art pieces and increase your chances of attracting buyers who appreciate and value your talent.

Hi, I'm Heather, and I create art 🎨 Do you? I've not met anyone that didn't use their artistic creativity in some way even if not on a canvas. Whether it's pigmented paper, like me, or a cool spreadsheet, your art matters to someone. I hope you can see it! What is your favorite art form? ----- I've been creating art since before anyone ever believed I could. It's not always good 🫢 Meh… that's not the point. Art is a meditative process that allows me to smoosh colors together in a way that some will appreciate. Notice, I said process. Art can't be the product. I would burn out faster than a shooting star 🌠 There IS someone that likes what I do somewhere. 🫠 Yes, this fact is still melting my brain. Let's face it though, most won't. That isn't a self doubt or negative statement. It's simply reality. Maybe they just don't like bright colors, or maybe they think it looks like a kindergartener drew it. For that among many reasons, I am here as a supportive person to artistic endeavors of all kinds because I truly believe that there is a buyer for every style and level of art and artist. It is so hard to hear when true artistry isn't being supported whether they are in my professional circle or some out of reach celebrity that people seem to believe don't matter the same as the rest of us. It doesn't have to be your taste, but there are no garbage artists except those artists that create art out of or about garbage. 🎶 The band Garbage has also given us an entire subgenre of rock to fit this particular adjective. 🎶 When lack of artistic support is closer to home, it hits differently because I see the drive and heart first hand. There are two sides and all that. Here's the deal and my best advice about being an artist… you ready? Create art! There is no obligation to monetize your hobby. Do it for joy. Sheer, unadulterated joy 🤩 That will help sustain your efforts and ultimately drive you to improve. In the case of art, improvement is gathered through play! If you want to sell your art, you absolutely have to understand that it is now someone else's product. They have every right to say it's not for them or that they wouldn't buy it. If a rando on the interwebs or even a frienemy tells you your art needs work or they can't see it selling, they aren't your collector or someone you should even worry about showing art to. Don't let it allow you to give up on that joy. If you quit making art completely, who is that for? Why did you make art to begin with? Money‽ 🥺 I'm here to tell you that it is a long, hard road full of constant skill improvement, feedback (both constructive and not), and soul gut punches. People can get behind a keyboard and say what they want with confidence because they aren't you. They will rarely care the same. So, you have to, and find those that do care. I care, y'all 😍 I would love to be your creative ally! #art #artist #painting #supportartists #hobbiesareimportant

Found this article about a new art trend dubbed #Hypersentimental #painting —where artists paint personal portraits, usually of their close friends or people in their social circles. It's very #IYKYK: the paintings have hidden messages or references that only people in their (sometimes very close) circles might understand. Think of it as creators / artists capturing the vibe of their own personal clique or friend group in their #art —very much a manifestation of the broader cultural shifts in how we perceive social connectivity, community, and #identity in the age of digital and #social media. I think this style is as much a reaction to the new age of digital/social age as it is an opportunity for #creators to celebrate closeness with their communities — and use their platform to tell their community's story, but in a way that might feel mysterious or secret to outsiders. I've actually seen / hear this in niche music as well. Lots of evidence of this in new bands / acts Sound Cloud circles. How might #brands start to take advantage of micro-focus and in-crowd coding? If feels like hidden elements intended for discovery by the initiated could turn into something bigger, perhaps even mass. https://lnkd.in/eehMXTUW
