Hello, dear friends and colleagues! Today, I want to share with you an exciting illustration from my children's book, which not only captivates the imagination but also carries important lessons for readers of all ages. In this image, we see the moment when the main character, a little girl named Luna, is exploring an enchanting magical forest. Luna has always been exceptionally curious and was never afraid to step where others might hesitate. Her interest in the unknown has led her to this magical world, where each turn of the path hides new wonders and new challenges. But here, while Luna is amazedly observing the strange plants, a fearsome wolf is sneaking up on her. This moment is breathtaking and reminds us of the importance of vigilance and courage in the face of the unknown. This illustration is an excellent example of how visual art can tell stories and provoke emotional responses. Let's discuss how art in children's books can be used to teach important life lessons, such as courage in the face of fears, the value of curiosity, and the importance of vigilance. What other lessons do you think children (and adults!) can learn from this story? I eagerly await your thoughts and comments! 💌 If you are looking for an illustrator for your next project and you like my work, write to me at unsovichkarina@gmail.com 🔗 Find out more about this and other projects on my website https://lnkd.in/eAYkE8PA #ChildrensIllustrations #ReadingToChildren #MagicOfBooks #Illustration #ChildrensLiterature #ChildrensBookPublishing #BookWorld #CreativeProjects #EducationalInitiatives #ChildrensLiterature #Illustration #VisualArt #Education #Curiosity #Courage

This picture book ‘An Out of this World Surprise’ was written and illustrated by 25 KIDS WHO ARE ONLY 7 and 8 YEARS OLD! I created this little workshop experience in my head for students where we talk about the differences in writing a story and writing a book, steps processes and considerations. Then I guided them through writing and illustrating a book together! The final piece to make it real and forever - I get a professional copy made up for all the junior collaborators. I love it, it’s inspiring. Becoming a published author / illustrator has been life changing, but it was not easy. There seems to be so much gatekeeping in creative industries and it absolutely burns my… uh, probably shouldn’t say that on this platform… it absolutely annoys me. I find my focus naturally sits on the next generations and giving support to prevent exclusion or gatekeeping in the first place. For my brain, how can you not be a published author as an adult (if you wish to be) if you’ve already done it as a child? Remove the societal hurdles. Oh and that amazing bouquet? The kids made it for me as their thank you 😭 [Image description: A small 8 inch square book sits on a wooden shelf with a white wall behind. The book has a black outer space background and a green 3 eyes alien flying in a UFO in the centre. Above the alien is the title of the book in block white letters: An Out of this World Surprise. Next to the alien is paper folded art orange and red daisies in a glass mason jar.] #PublishedAuthor #illustrator #childrensbooks #workshop #childrensbookillustration

The excitement of new won, yesterday. I forgot something. The outside of a book. Front cover. Back. Spine. The first impression. Attractiveness to the reader and bookshops. Tempting. To sell. Therefor publishers like a cover first. Understandable. Sometimes months upfront before the launchdate itself. Does it have to fit the category? Does it? I like to look for edges there. To have a fit with being remarkable too. One of the reasons I like artboooks. Is they often go beyond that. The cover, it’s a new canvas to play with. A new possiblity to let the story shine, differently. Condensed. Like a poster. An add. “ A book cover is a distillation. It’s a haiku of the story. _ Chipp Kidd “ My default mode likes to design the cover last. Recently I started the design of a book with the cover. A little revolution for myself. - This is #18 of 24 days on books. I’m a maker of books. On a journey towards creating ‘Chasing Sunsets’, a book on ‘Be you, you are enough’. I’ve designed quite a few books, this one I’ll write too. Hi, I am akkie bosje Graphic poet. An artist who chose design. I do books and brands for those who are and do remarkable and are hungry to get noticed differently. Late evenings and early mornings I write. 10 Lessons from "The Art of Noticing" by Rob Walker: 1. This book encourages developing your observational skills to see the world in a fresh light. Active noticing fosters curiosity and ignites creativity. 2. Don't settle for a passive view of the world. Question your assumptions and actively seek out details you might normally overlook. 3. Everyday objects and experiences can hold hidden beauty and intrigue. The book encourages finding inspiration in the seemingly ordinary. 4. Instead of random observation, choose a specific theme to focus on. This could be colors, textures, numbers, materials, or anything that sparks your curiosity. 5. Sometimes limitations can spark creativity. The book proposes exercises with specific limitations, like drawing an object instead of photographing it. 6. Challenge your usual routines to see familiar environments with fresh eyes. Take a different route, explore a new neighborhood, or simply look up instead of down. 7. "The Art of Noticing" encourages new ways of experiencing art. Look for flaws, consider the donor's perspective, or observe how others interact with the artwork. 8. The book encourages incorporating playful activities like scavenger hunts or "people-watching" to spark observation and ignite your imagination. 9. Taking notes, sketching, or photographing your observations can solidify your memories and provide a springboard for further exploration. 10. "The Art of Noticing" is all about fostering a sense of wonder and curiosity in the everyday world. #booklovers #bookreader #studentempowerment #digitaladvertising #coaches #ppc

Austin Kleon “Steal like an Artist” I just finished reading the book "Steal Like an Artist" by Austin Kleon. What a book that enhances the way of thinking and looking at things differently. A few learnings from this golden book are : - Learn from the best Artists and learn everything about them - Copy, innovate, and make things differently in your way - Learn to copy but not exactly reproduce - No artwork is original. If we think that way, we haven't explored the real art or references so far. - Have hobbies and be creative There's a lot more to acquire from this specially crafted book for designers.
