We are less than 48 hours away from our year-end deadline – but we still haven’t reached our urgent funding goal. With the clock ticking, we just made the decision to unlock an UNPRECEDENTED 4X match to get us back on track. Three reasons why your 4X-matched gift today is so important: 1. Hunger is rising in the world’s most vulnerable communities, from Gaza to Somalia to Ukraine. 2. More than two million children die each year from hunger, even though it's entirely preventable and highly treatable. 3. We have the knowledge and tools to end hunger. But our fight is drastically underfunded. Your donation helps us make up the funding gap and reach more people in need. Your gift will go further today than any other time of the year. Please, will you rush a tax-deductible donation immediately to help end hunger? https://lnkd.in/dgQp35V

Update on shelter project in Gaza: In addition to providing warm meals through Baitulmaal Kitchens in north and south Gaza during Ramadan, Baitulmaal completed the construction of 100 temporary shelter units that now house 1,000 displaced Palestinians. These families were struggling with a severe lack of food, clean water, and electricity. Each of these shelter units is constructed from galvanized steel and equipped with essential amenities, including mattresses, electricity, clean water, and toilets. We also distributed hygiene kits and food parcels for each family in these units. The impact of these efforts goes beyond providing physical relief; it’s about restoring hope and dignity to those who have lost so much. As the situation continues to deteriorate, we must remain steadfast in our humanitarian aid efforts to our brothers and sisters in Gaza. Country Director @ Anera | Driving Community Development Impact | Opinions expressed are solely my own.
Every day, I am asked about the most pressing needs in Gaza, and my response is always: FOOD. The urgency to feed more people is our number one priority right now. Anera operates a kitchen in the north (one of the few that is able to provide services there), serving 20,000 Palestinians daily. Additionally, we manage five other Tekias, providing approximately 125,000 meals per day. This demands both food supplies and labor to ensure we reach as many individuals as possible. As this has taken more time than any of us expected, and there is no ceasefire in sight, sustaining these efforts becomes increasingly crucial. With Ramadan around the corner, our need for support is greater than ever. It is critical not only to maintain our current delivery of 125,000 meals daily but also to expand our reach to feed even more people. For those considering donating Zakat, giving Kaffarah, or providing assistance, I urge you to give to the most critical need: food. Your contributions will make a significant difference in alleviating hunger and sustaining communities living in shelters. Check out our website for how to give www.anera.org

What is a “baitul-maal”? The concept of a “baitul-maal,” i.e. “house of funds” emerged early in Islamic history to help collect and distribute zakat (i.e. obligatory charity) and sadaqah (voluntary charity). These funds would be held in a reserve to be used during emergencies and to help sustain families through difficulties. The goal of a baitul-maal was to not only ensure the welfare of society’s most vulnerable members, but to also enable a community to mobilize quickly and efficiently when and where needed most. It is from this visionary approach that the idea for Baitulmaal, Inc. was inspired. Baitulmaal’s Emergency Aid Fund is a critical part of its mission to provide life-saving, life-sustaining and life-enriching humanitarian aid to under-served populations around the world regardless of faith or nationality. From climate change and natural disasters to human-made crises like ongoing oppression, war, and civil unrest, emergencies arise that put people at risk of displacement, hunger, thirst, illness, or injury. When they do, Baitulmaal is ready to respond to those in need in their moment of crisis. But we simply can’t do it without your support. Your compassion can be the meal they eat, the clean water they drink, the medicine that heals, or the aid that saves them. Contribute towards Baitulmaal’s Emergency Aid Fund today - https://lnkd.in/gJB7x6zY . . . . . . #Baitulmaal #Hope #Compassion #Emergency #Aid #EmergencyAidFund #Respond #Crisis #HumanitarianAid #climatechange #naturaldisasters #war #civilunrest #hunger #thirst #illness #injury #refugees #malnutrition #disease #cleanwater #hygiene #medicine #help #charity #zakah #sadaqa
