In the demanding world of construction, acknowledging our mental well-being is just as vital as our physical safety. This #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, we at Finishing Chicago continue our commitment to making mental health a priority. Everyone has moments when things seem overwhelming, and it's important to recognize that reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Whether you’re dealing with job-related stress or personal issues, support is available, and you’re not alone in this journey. Our own Painters District Council 14 and the Finishing Contractors Association of Chicago ensure all our contractors and their skilled tradespeople not only have supportive mental health coverage, but they maintain programs where individuals and their families have access to immediate free mental health support 24/7. Once again, they are leading their industry by taking action for their tradespeople. Together, we can overcome the stigma and ensure that everyone feels supported not just this month, but throughout the year. #mentalhealth #construction #breakthestigma #finishingchicago #finishingcontractors #mentalhealthawareness #constructionsafety

It's no secret that construction industry workers are extremely susceptible to experiencing mental health struggles and that's why it's more important than ever for companies in our industry to support Mental Health Awareness Week. At M&T, we support our colleagues every day of the year and not just during this week. We have dedicated members of the team who are qualified Mental Health First Aiders who are on hand to identify the signs that someone may be struggling, to listen to, and to offer guidance to anyone who needs help. We openly encourage every member of staff to communicate with us when they face any form of mental health issue or worry. Our First Aiders are on hand and will provide the support to help them through it and put in place the assistance they need. Remember, don't suffer in silence and be kind to your mind. #mentalhealthawarenessweek #constructionindustry #constructionuk #groundworks #earthworks #civilengineering #mentalhealth #employeesupport #supportingmentalhealth #bekindtoyourmind #letstalk

Today -- October 10 -- is designated as World Mental Health Day. The construction industry is rife with workers struggling with anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues -- but we're trying to change that. If you are struggling, we want to help and resources exist for you. Visit Construction Safety Week's mental health resource guide here: https://bit.ly/3rJQCHL

With a growing team, #TimeToTalk Day gives us the perfect opportunity to open the floor to a wider discussion about mental health. Life isn't always smooth sailing and we can't always leave our problems at the door. That's why we're investing in mental health first aid training, so we have the tools to navigate these crucial conversations. It's also why we provide free therapy and counselling to our team (thanks YuLife). What's more important, though, is that we take this opportunity to ask our staff and colleagues how they REALLY are. Not just for today, but every day, as we never know when someone may need our help. Here's to creating safe spaces, where everyone feels included, supported, valued and heard ❤️ #MentalHealth #SupportingStaff #BeKind #StartTheConversation
