I feel very fortunate to have partnered with Michelle Pietsch when we launched and now we’re adding to our founding group with the one and only Operations Legend Sean Lane. Before I tell you how this makes our company better, let me just reflect and remind everybody that every interaction and relationship in your career matters. I have been fortunate to meet and work with so many really smart people. The person I am now is a sum of learnings from all those people over my 20+ year career. You never know when you'll team up with someone you have met or worked with in the past. Look at me, every day I get to go to work with two of the best. Now back to Sean. Our value proposition has alway been that we will put in the work with your company and teams to create a revenue machine that lasts through all the iterations of scale. We want you to build on a strong foundation vs. having to break and rebuild constantly. That type of turbulence leads to lost revenue and frustrated employees and customers. We’ve shared a couple of big new client wins recently but honestly Feb, March and April ‘24 were absolutely shite for our business. Here’s how we survived: - We had a cash runway that meant we could ride out the lull in revenue for a bit. - We trained & upskilled internally by creating content doing what we do best. Sharing it with the world and taking feedback from our audience and potential customers. - We didn’t knee jerk to grab the quick cash wins completely altering our offering or brand. - We doubled down on marketing and especially personal brand encouraging every team member to get involved on social (not just the founders). - Remained hungry for every opportunity that presented itself and did everything we can to land the job. The recent big wins don’t show the months of work gone in to getting some of the these projects over the line. There’s plenty that we didn’t win too. Now it seems the market is in a slightly better place with new briefs coming in every week, but it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. P.s. Put the work in NOW. You might not see the benefit in a week or a month but over time it’ll come.
