Advancing Peace through Legislation I had the privilege of facilitating the Peace Forum in Aid of Legislation, organized by the esteemed Office of MP Susana Anayatin, commemorating the 2023 International Day of Peace under the theme "Actions for Peace: Advancing Our Ambitions for the #GlobalGoals." The event, in alignment with the 2023 National Peace Consciousness Month theme, "Kapayapaan: Responsibilidad ng Bawat Mamamayan," has gathered peace students, peace advocates, and practitioners, focusing on impactful legislative recommendations. In the forum, a resounding call was made for legislative action across several critical fronts. Firstly, there's a strong emphasis on establishing a Comprehensive Peace Mechanism through legislation, aiming to define and institutionalize a peace framework at all levels for effective conflict resolution and heightened awareness. Addressing issues within government structures, attendees urged for legal frameworks to combat nepotism, ensuring fair hiring practices grounded in merit. Additionally, the imperative to tackle environmental concerns was acknowledged, proposing legislation to monitor and penalize illegal logging while promoting sustainable forest management and climate change mitigation. Urgency was voiced to enhance preventive measures against violent extremism and crimes through legislation, fostering community engagement for a safer Bangsamoro and Mindanao. Lastly, attendees underscored the importance of gender equality by advocating for legislation to combat gender-based violence and promote equal opportunities through legal measures and educational initiatives. These combined efforts through legislation signify a collective dedication to nurturing peace, equity, and sustainability in the region. #Peace #LegislationForPeace #SustainableFuture #GenderEquality

🌍✊ March 21st marks the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which the UN declared in 1966. Since 1994, South Africa has also observed March 21st as Human Rights Day. It commemorates the election of Nelson Mandela as president and the birth of a new democratic South Africa. It also commemorates those who fought against injustice during the apartheid years, including the 69 who lost their lives and 180 injured during the Sharpeville Massacre on this day in 1960. Today, let's reflect on this history, the importance of equality, and the need to work together to eliminate racial discrimination everywhere. #HumanRightsDay #EndRacialDiscrimination #EqualityForAll 🕊️

In the name of #justice and #equality sign and share people With the international strife of the geopolitical wars in #Congo,#Sudan,#Israel,#Ukraine brought about by neo colonialism and our greed and prejudice as a race. Where women and children Then you have the current national issues around VAWG #ElianneAndam murder in Croydon by a disturbed young man. We need to provide safe therapeutic spaces to reduce the chances of such incidents happening again. And if you believe the current political narrative many put such tensions down to patriarchal control. Yet without positive #father involvement how are we going to reduce youth violence? conversely I give pause to celebrate the positive contributions that so often go unappreciated our service men and everyday citizens that allow our society to operate in relative comfort. From the homes we live in, the vehicles we drive, the protection of our partners and children as well as the food we consume and the infrastructure and energy we depend on for our survival. This is for all the unsung heroes that we should be celebrating more regularly I salute you on #internationalMenDay2023. Alas please sign and share the #petition below:
