Centre for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE) is ready to help BC-based innovators step up to this challenge and take wildfire tech to a whole new level. CICE has launched Canada’s first $3 million call for innovation focused on wildfire prevention, mitigation and adaptation. 🚀 ICYMI: there was big news announced for the Metro Vancouver region’s tech sector last week! Web Summit is coming to Vancouver in 2025. The effort to bring the event to the Metro Vancouver region was guided by a consortium of organizations, led by Destination Vancouver and including: ⭐ Pacific Economic Development Canada | Développement économique Canada pour le Pacifique (PacifiCan) ⭐ BC’s Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation (JEDI) ⭐ City of Vancouver ⭐ Vancouver Convention Centre ⭐ Innovate BC ⭐ Frontier Collective ⭐ Metro Vancouver’s Invest Vancouver Last Friday, members of the consortium met for the official announcement of Web Summit Vancouver. The sentiment was clear: collaboration like this consortium is a key aspect of our region’s competitive advantage. The event will shine a global spotlight on the region, our tech sector, and our innovation capacity.
