Global Vikas Trust - Massive Increase in Farmer Incomes Mayank Gandhi's Global Vikas Trust has increased farmer incomes by 10 X. Attached is the Tata Institute of Social Science's (TISS) Study that shows that the Global Vikas Trust has actually achieved this 10X multiple on Farm incomes. To the best of my knowledge this is the only " Farmer income multiplier" Programme in India to have achieved such Remarkable results. Execution in 6,00,000 Villages across India Mayank Gandhi's Global Vikas Trust currently operates in 4000 villages across 2 - 3 states. Given that agriculture is currently 15% of GDP, there is a need for each one of us to Help make Mayank Gandhi's formula a National Programme that reaches 6,00,000 villages across India to Help multiply Indian GDP. Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) shared On the occasion of the 70th All India Cooperative Week celebrations, the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) organized a webinar on the main theme of Cooperative Week celebrations i.e., 'Role of Cooperatives in Making India a $5 Trillion Economy & SDGs'. Prof. H. S. Shylendra participated as a key speaker in the webinar. He was joined by Shri Jayen Mehta, Managing Director, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), in the discussion. In the context of the goal of attaining a $5 Trillion economy, Prof. Shylendra brought out the basic role of cooperatives visualized in growth and development. It was argued that cooperatives are more about equity and redistribution than growth per se. A cooperative has an inherent limitation of growth, as its main aim is to adequately meet the needs of the members. Towards growth, broad-basing cooperatives into all sectors would be helpful, and building a cooperative-based economy can be helpful in that direction. Prof. Shylendra works in the area of Social Sciences at IRMA. He teaches courses like Rural Finance, Micro-Finance, Gender and Development Lab, Rural Development, among others.
