Summary Report: Regional Strategic Dialogue on Refugee and Stateless Children Education Read the Report: https://lnkd.in/gw-xy7Je In November 2023, the Asia Displacement Solutions Platform (ADSP) and the Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network (APRRN), with financial assistance from EU Humanitarian Aid (ECHO), co-hosted an online dialogue session on refugee and stateless children education. The session's primary aim was to underline the long-term benefits of inclusive education policies for these vulnerable groups, enabling them to be in a position to actively contribute to and engage with society. Moreover, the aim was also to foster a collaborative spirit among regional stakeholders, emphasising the importance of unified efforts to effectively address the educational challenges faced by refugee and stateless children. #Refugees #RefugeeChildren #StatelessChildren #Advocacy #APRRN #Report #Dialogue

#climate #change is intensifying the global #refugee crisis, driving unprecedented displacement as communities are forced to flee from extreme weather, rising sea levels, and diminishing resources.
We are proud that our founder and CEO Najeeba Wazefadost has been named as one of 5 refugee climate activists who are making a difference, by Earthrise Studio and UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. We will continue to advocate for displaced populations affected by climate change, follow us for updates on what we are doing and how you can contribute. #ClimateDisplacement #WorldEnviromentDay #Sustainability #Advocacy

Advocacy as a collective: Three2Six joined UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency Southern Africa and United Nations Human Rights Southern Africa for a workshop on the coordination of responses that counter xenophobia, intolerance and racism in South Africa. This is crucial in a context of heightened tensions between the local and refugee communities and as national elections are scheduled for next year. Contingency plans will be developed to prepare for potential violence against refugees and migrants. #advocacy #coalition

🟣As the Refugee Rights Association, what do we do and what do we demand in the fight against the crime of human trafficking? ◾Refugee Rights Association, established in 2009, actively conducts advocacy, field work, and projects on refugee rights, racism, and human trafficking. Refugee Rights Association aims to fight effectively and in coordination against human trafficking and works for the continuation of advocacy and information activities. ◾As RRA, we want the relevant local authorities to take steps and strengthen their practices on human trafficking. There are some regulations that we demand the relevant legal institutions to apply in order to fight more effectively against human trafficking and provide solutions and improvement. 🔴Our demands; 1- Establishment of shelters and specific areas for victims 2- Establishment of a unit to combat human trafficking 🔴We need your support to proceed with our demands. An important read!
In this The Conversation Canada piece, co-authored with Allan Reesor-McDowell (Matthew House Ottawa), we share preliminary findings from our joint research project on the right to housing for refugee claimants with Delphine Nakache (uOttawa COMMON LAW) & Azar Masoumi (Carleton University). Ahead of Refugee Rights Day, which celebrates the 1985 Singh decision affirming that refugee claimants are protected by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, we propose three key recommendations. https://lnkd.in/gzhMsRgt
Canada needs a national strategy for homeless refugee claimants
