For an immigrant, relying on a phone is an essential need in order to get an appointment. For survivors of gender based violence/domestic violence/stalking etc, the phone becomes the most dangerous device to hold in hand. Why? Did you know that abusers are now using the devices to track their targets and find them so to continue the cycle of abuse? Abusers use gang networks to identify the location of the person so to capture them. Therefore, when considering the use of an app we must understand its impact. Our colleagues at Human Rights First share more. #humanrights #saveasylum #operationlonestarmustgo
"We spoke to a Honduran woman & her children that waited 9 months for a CBP One appointment." Brenda Vargas our Refugee Advocacy Advisor, sheds light on the harms she observed at the southern border fueled by the #AsylumBan. The Biden Admin MUST end this harmful policy.

When asylum seekers work, our communities don’t just grow—they flourish. But a required 180-day waiting period has asylum seekers waiting on the sidelines, unable to work for months. The Asylum Seeker Work Authorization Act (H.R. 1325) reduces the wait time from 180 days to just 30. Nuestras comunidades están listas para recibir a los buscadores de asilo con las manos abiertas. It’s time to #LetAsylumSeekersWork. https://ow.ly/9eFi50QHSRM Refugee Congress T'ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP)
