A great summary of the deliberations from The Charter Project Africa 's latest installment of its regional dialogues as convened by consortium member Democracy Works Foundation. It aimed to reflect on the roles played by Regional Economic Communities and normative frameworks in advancing democratic governance and electoral integrity in Africa. A worthwhile parting shot, "Democracy works only if we all play our part. 🎯 In the Strategic Plan for 2023-2028 we reaffirm our commitment to promoting democratic values, inclusivity, and resilience and highlight the main methods of work. Since 2007, CRISP has been actively involved in transforming conflict-torn societies into spaces where people can thrive and fulfill their potential. We have been inspiring and inspired by the citizens who, despite challenging or even unbearable living and working conditions, distrust, corruption, and oppression, have chosen to make a positive impact within their communities and beyond. The conversation on nationhood continued on the Aubrey Masanga show on 702 yesterday. On Political Analysis, we look at an interesting opinion piece written by Dr Msingatha Sipuka, Chief of Staff at the African Union Development Agency - Nepad (AUDA-NEPAD), titled “Re-conceptualising South Africa’s idea of nationhood”. The article talks about South Africa’s nationhood and the challenges it has encountered, the present trajectory and how this have impacted South Africans. Has South African been able to define its nationhood? Would defining our nationhood assist us in understanding who we are and be able to encompass another nationality? Those are some but a few questions that’s the article raises. Dr Sipuka joins us this evening to unpack this very interesting discussion of nationhood. What is nationhood?
