The U.S. Embassies in Maputo, Mozambique and Colombo, Sri Lanka are featured in Architectural Record’s Civic Design issue. Check out the article titled ‘New Standards Shape a Series of New Embassies and Consulates Representing the U.S. Abroad,’ which features several recently completed U.S. diplomatic sites around the world. This is just a recent sample of our work – pre-merger both Integrus and YGH were involved with developing aesthetic concepts to bridging documents, engineering, interiors and construction administration for 20+ embassies and consulates worldwide over the past three decades. YGH worked with Allied Works on the Maputo Embassy. Integrus worked with ZGF on the Colombo Embassy. Of note, years ago Integrus and YGH worked together on an embassy in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. Administered by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO), contemporary embassies present highly complex design challenges. They are often multi-acre campuses of buildings with offices, consular services, NGO outlets, event and meeting space, even housing for embassy personnel. Creating a welcoming presence offers amazing opportunities to reference local culture, craft and materials. Imaginatively fulfilling functional needs for security, resilience and sustainability helps to convey the ideals, technical innovation, and design leadership of the United States. https://ow.ly/tjvJ50S7QkA

https://lnkd.in/dCnk27xP <<Besides the alliance during WWI, active Hungarian and Ottoman-Turkish cultural and diplomatic relations also marked the 1910s. The cooperation that blossomed during the period led to unique knowledge transfer between the young Republic of Türkiye and post-war Hungary in diplomacy, education and culture, as well as in various sectors of the economy, including industry, agriculture, infrastructure development, urban development, and architecture. The activities of Hungarian architects in the Turkish Republic can be observed in several areas, including the design of buildings in the new capital, Ankara, conceptual proposals for urban planning, landscape architecture, surveys of historic buildings and built heritage conservation initiatives, participation in international design competitions, or jury membership for competitions and also in education. >> #Turkey #Ankara #Hungarians #architecture #jury #heritage #design #conservation #design #competitions #education #global #urban

Osaka Expo 2025 The World Expo serves as a global stage for showcasing the achievements of nations. Recently, Miti announced Malaysia's participation in World Expo 2025. As an architect, I am particularly excited to see the design of the national pavilions. However, there are rumours circulating that Miti is contemplating the appointment of a foreign architect for the Malaysian pavilion's design. I sincerely hope that Miti can consider the talented pool of Malaysian architects who could contribute to and showcase our expertise in designing the national pavilion. Architecture can serve as a form of cultural expression. The national pavilion at the World Expo allows architects who design iconic structures that represent their country's identity and culture to contribute to cultural diplomacy. This is also an opportunity for Malaysian architects to promote architectural services regionally and internationally. I believe that Malaysian architects even young architects can achieve similar feats if given the opportunity. Many notable national pavilions in recent years have been designed by young architects. Hope the rumour is not true. Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) could organise an international design competition for architects to submit designs for Malaysia's national pavilion. Malaysian architects can compete with international architects. Tengku Zafrul Aziz Chin Tong Liew Kian-Ming Ong

Article by Ijeoma Ndukwe -BBC news: The article is titled "What African Architecture Can Teach The World". While the above mentioned article is not about food, nutrition and leading a healthy lifestyle, it is consistant with what I believe in and that is we must use whatever is in our environment to contribute towards our overall well-being and that of the environment because as you know we are closely connected to our environment. The article is about the work of various African Architects whose work were featured in a recent exhibition in the UAE: Basically the architects used what is in the environment to create eco friendly buildings and to renovate buildings which were unfinished or abandoned. They also included traditional style mud method (rammed earth). Basically we have been brainwashed to believe that only European style building methods (bricks and mortar)are the best and that anything African is no good, not modern and basically a waste of time. The following participants at the exhibition demonstrated that our environment must dictate the materials we use etc. -Tosin Oshinowo -Miriam Hillawi Abraham -Hive Earth Studio -Dominique Petit-Frere -Emil Grip -Pap Omotayo -Eve Nnaji All praise to their contributions and I sincerely hope that ALL architects (present & future) are inspired by the above mentioned Africans who are demonstrating that: we must use whatever is in our environment to design and build our buildings and to be proud of our architecture. Please read the article on the net to get a full understanding of what I am trying to say.

Celebrating our Remarkable Achievements at CC Pines We're thrilled to take a moment to reflect on a significant milestone in our journey. In 2021, CC Pines was honoured with the prestigious Procore Award for Development Innovation at the Property Council of Australia / Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards. Our winning project involved the design and construction of a cutting-edge modular prefabricated Embassy building. The journey began in Sydney, Australia, where this architectural masterpiece was manufactured and once complete, was shipped to Rabat, Morocco. What makes this project truly amazing is its adaptability. We provided the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) with a standardised design solution that can be replicated and scaled for future projects worldwide. The Chancellery building, the heart of the Embassy Project, comprises 15 prefabricated building modules, offering a total of 450 sqm of building space. Our dedicated design team ensured that the entire building was not only fully fitted internally but also equipped with all necessary services. Our key design objectives for the Embassy Project included: * Creating an embassy facility that reflects Australia's prestige, attractiveness, and modern design, while seamlessly incorporating elements of the host country. * Designing a durable and timeless structure that is both inviting and functional, all while meeting stringent DFAT security requirements. * Projecting Australia's position and status, both in public and diplomatic contexts. * Developing a design tailored to the Moroccan environment, accounting for climate and seismic conditions. * Ensuring compliance with both Australian and Moroccan Standards, using innovative design solutions based on a thorough gap analysis. * Designing a comprehensive offsite fabrication and commissioning process for the chancellery building, enabling seamless intermodal transport of individual modules. This award is not just a recognition of our past accomplishments; it's a promise of our commitment to delivering excellence in every project we undertake. As we look back, we also look forward to more groundbreaking ventures and the opportunity to serve new clients and welcome new talents to our team. #CCPines #Construction #buildingconstruction #constructionmanagement

🌆 Exciting News for Budapest's Skyline! 🏗️ The Hungarian capital is set to witness a spectacular transformation, as UAE businessman Mohamed Alabbar, the visionary behind the iconic Burj Khalifa, proposes a groundbreaking project. Alabbar's company, Emaar Properties, has submitted a bid for the Rákosrendező area in Budapest to construct a Dubai-style skyscraper that aims to surpass the height of Budapest's current tallest building, the MOL Campus. This ambitious plan, part of a significant economic cooperation agreement with the UAE, involves an investment of a staggering EUR 5 billion. The proposal includes not just the skyscraper but also a planned railway station, adding to the city's infrastructure development. While this project promises to bring a slice of Dubai's architectural marvel to Budapest, it's not without its controversies. Budapest's Mayor, Gergely Karácsony, has expressed criticism over the government's approach to such grand projects, whereas János Lázár, Minister of Transport and Construction, is all in for creating a new millennium city center in Budapest. This blend of old and new, tradition and modernity, could redefine Budapest's landscape and its position on the global map. What are your thoughts on this ambitious skyscraper project? Will it become the new emblem of Budapest? Share your views! #Budapest #Skyscraper #UAE #Architecture #UrbanDevelopment #Innovation https://lnkd.in/gbxYmSf9 📰👀

[Italian Design Day on HTV9] #Throwback the #IDD Italian Design Day 2024 took place in Ho Chi Minh City on March 26, as the eighth consecutive year that the Italian Trade Agency and the Italian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City have coordinated the event. The event focused on industrial design and discussing of preserving cultural heritage among experts and visitors in a seminar themed "The value of heritage: When the present draws lessons from the past." This event served as a multilateral cultural bridge and demonstrated the connection between organisations in Italy and experts and designers in Vietnam. Such activities open up more opportunities for cooperation in design, especially in conservation. “Following new trends and applying the most advanced techniques is necessary, but preserving the identity and beauty of the past is equally important. There are many ways to build a city and connect cities together. But the best way is to use modern techniques and technology to preserve and promote traditional characteristics. This is the goal we want to help Vietnam achieve,” Mr. Fabio De Cillis said. With its unique characteristics, today Italian art has a great influence on other architecture in the world. The IDD is one of the activities to support Vietnamese art lovers, designers, and architects to update new solutions and directions in design, suitable for the new era. The IDD is an annual design event held in more than 100 cities around the world, promoted and initiated by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Trade Agency since 2017. #ITA #ItalianDesignDay2024 #HTV9 #News
