Is an ‘employee experience winter’ coming? According to Forrester's "Predictions 2024: The Future of Work" report, the employee experience will take a back seat in 2024, and could become an easy target for cutting costs. Between 2022 and 2023, employee engagement fell from 48% to 44%, and is expected to fall to 39% in 2024. For JP Gownder, Vice President and Principal Analyst of Forrester's Future of Work team, this disinvestment is partly due to the fact that the labor market is less tight. He points out, however, that this is a trap that companies will fall into, as there is no longer any need to prove the impact of the employee experience on productivity.
