How I’ve radically improved my mental health Over the last three years 1. Started seeing counsellor regularly ➡️ Sometimes weekly ➡️ Learned about my nervous system ➡️ Learned how to regulate better 2. Read 2 types of books ➡️ Mental health and motivational ➡️ Helping me understand where I was And where I wanted to go 3. Built stronger 1-on-1 relationships ➡️ Helped process counseling sessions ➡️ Brought healthy view to life situations 4. Removed unhealthy influences ➡️ Some people did more harm than good ➡️ Some leaders were especially bad ➡️ Stopped interacting with them 5. Reduce number of influences ➡️ I’ve always appreciated outside voices to make myself better ➡️ Doubled down on great ones, cut ‘meh’ ones ➡️ Relied more on what I’ve learned in past 6. Refined what I want for my life ➡️ Eliminate distractions ➡️ Find roots of my desires What’s helped you and your mental health?

मानसिक स्वास्थ्य दिवस Yesterday was World Mental Health Day, and rather than creating more awareness for it. I sat down with myself and decluttered my thoughts. I wrote down my thoughts, listened to music, and choose to be with me. And also ate cake.. Embrace Your Mind, Because Your Mind Matters Each and Every Day!! What did you do for your mental health? #Worldmentalhealthday #Mentalhealth2023 #Mindmatters #Mentalhealth

Today is World Mental Health Day: Where is Your Gauge At? Last week, I gave a keynote to 450 people in the human service field called "Reigniting Our Resilience," about how burnout sometimes sneaks up on us without us realizing it. The reason this often happens is because we are not watching our gauge. Here are a few things to keep in mind. As always, if you enjoy this, please share your thoughts and repost to share with others!

October 10th is World Mental Health Day. And here I am, talking about my mental health on October 11th. Things are intense right now - even people who take their mental health for granted are experiencing sleepless nights, racing thoughts, feelings of depression, and the like. These struggles don't wait for the work day to be done - they show up while we are in meetings, having difficult conversations, processing feedback. Sometimes they even show up when we are making a sandwich. They do for me, at least. I've got lots of tools - meditation, walks in nature, therapy, Lexapro. Sometimes the thing that helps me is to simply say out loud that I'm struggling, even if I only say it to the people I trust the most. Mental health is a universal human right. That means you. And that means you while you are at work. BTW: NAMI is an amazing organization with lots of resources to help, if you are interested. https://www.nami.org/Home
