How has your communities responded to HIV&AIDS Treatment, care and support? What support mechanisms have been put in place to ensure that children orphaned by HIV&AIDS receives maximum support? What are the current gaps in OVC Programming in your communities? These are some of the thoughts that we may need to reflect on to ensure an effective response. We all have responsibilities for an effective response.

A few of the most glaring things about working in development and mobilizing resources for those un-housed (in our country) 1) Too often our compassion only runs as far as our ability to prove victimization. Meaning that if someone is clearly a victim, we give unlimited compassion (and resources). However, if we are not sure why an individual has ended up where they have ended, our compassion hits a ceiling. This is problematic for our un-housed neighbors. 2) Dealing with our own complicity when it comes to injustice is hard, but it's transformational (for everyone involved) When dealing with our most vulnerable neighbors here (versus the most vulnerable across seas), we are often challenged even more to ask the question, "Have I perpetuated any of the oppressive systems that have pushed my neighbor into this space?" City Relief has continued to help people from all across the country process through these two things in transformational ways. https://lnkd.in/ep6aQKzS
