We founded Climate&Tech AI Think-tank because we believe access to data, especially about climate risk is not only necessary for adaptation and to help those most affected, but also one of the best ways to motivate mitigation. Thanks Dr Nicola Ranger for sharing.

Today I want to talk about the Science Based Targets initiative, a project that defines and promotes science-based best practice to ensure we can successfully combat climate change in the #packaging sector. The #SBTi provides expert guidance and a range of resources to help set targets that are in line with climate science. This project is a partnership between the CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute and the World Wide Fund for Nature. Since 2015, more than 1,000 companies have joined the initiative to set science-based climate targets. This table shows different strategies for reducing carbon emissions in the value chain (short and long term), and for neutralising and compensating for emissions.
