N E W B E G I N N I N G S 🤩 As we step into a fresh school year, homes are buzzing with excitement and anticipation. Kids eagerly await reunions with friends, while parents embark on rediscovering routines and diving back into work after the rejuvenating holiday break. Personally, I find joy in the little things—the crispness of sharpened pencils, the meditative act of labeling pens, and the delight of neatly covering books. There's something special about the promise a new school year brings! What part do you love? As you tuck your children into bed tonight, take a moment to connect. Ask about their feelings, listen without judgement, and encourage open conversations. No expectations—just a genuine curiosity about their experiences. This week, consider asking them to share three words they'd like their friends to use in describing them; it's a beautiful way to stimulate meaningful conversations. These school years pass quickly, and you might one day look back fondly on these moments. So, relish the simplicity of these times and savour the joy in every little detail. Here's to a fun-filled new start and a smooth journey into the school year ahead. Sending lots of love and a sprinkle of post-it notes your way! Linda 🌱

Many people in the academic field find themselves torn between school/studies and spending quality time with their loved ones. We understand the importance of balancing academic commitments with personal relationships, which is why we're here to offer some helpful study tips with a Valentine's Day twist! Embrace Collaborative Learning: Find strength in teamwork by joining study groups or starting projects. Together, you can conquer challenges, share knowledge, and celebrate victories. Practice Gratitude: Take a moment to appreciate the support and guidance you receive from your tutors, and express your gratitude openly. Recognizing their efforts can strengthen your bond and enhance your learning experience. Strike a Balance: When scheduling study sessions, aim for a blend of focused learning and relaxed interaction. This balance ensures productive study time while also nurturing personal connections. Keep Communication Open: Establish clear communication channels with your tutors to discuss your academic goals, seek guidance, and provide feedback. Transparent communication fosters mutual understanding and helps address any challenges effectively. Celebrate Achievements: Acknowledge and celebrate your academic milestones with your support network, no matter how big or small. Celebrating milestones not only boosts your confidence but also fuels your motivation to keep striving for excellence. Nurture Friendships: Cultivate friendships with your peers and tutors. A supportive and friendly environment makes learning more enjoyable and fosters a sense of belonging within the academic community. #valentines #valentines_day #happyvalentinesday #showlove #feb14 #ashwednesday

As we step into 2024, and having read many beautiful posts about Christmas and the incoming year I too would like to contribute. These are my 3 top tips for the year ahead. 1) Gentle Reflection - take the time to look back on your day, week or even month. We learn so much of ourselves when we look at how our nervous system shows up in different situations. 2) Approach every conversation with the understanding that everyone is just trying to navigate and survive with the hope of feeling safe. Compassion is truly an excellent tool to have. 3) Don't take yourself too seriously - who told you that you had to have everything figured out?! Allow yourself to be a student navigating through life. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year 🎉

Today is Mother’s Day ❤️ I’m going to share a few life lessons I’ve learned from my mom with y’all: — We didn’t have being grounded as a punishment, but we did have options on how we could act when upset as kids. And, all of them had some component of communication tied to it. You can have feelings, but there are acceptable and not acceptable ways to act when experiencing them. — Thank you for valuing education, making me feel comfortable and confident to continuously learn beyond my formal education. I love to learn a plethora of ways and it starts and ends with a passion for it. — Talking about your feelings and asking for help is always better than keeping them bottled up and living in a tortured, siloed world alone. — Why being DEIBA-minded will always be better than not doing so in all areas of my life. Allowing someone to show up as their authentic self will help attract the people you genuinely want around you. — It’s so important to tell the people — friends, family, etc. — in your life how much they mean to you and that you love and appreciate them. You don’t always get to have the chance to say it the next day.

5 choices to better your quality of life! 1. Patience over quick results. All good things do take time. 2. Individuality over peer pressure. Afterall no two life trajectories are same. 3. Self-confidence over others. You need to know your worth before making others realise it. 4. Appreciation over arrogance. Learn rather than demean others of their achievements. No one has everything. 5. Assertive over taken for granted. Be aware of where to draw a line. In this world, you need to be clear of your opinions. Just some quick reminders before the new week! Which amongst the above has been the most difficult one for you to follow? Punya Malhotra LinkedIn for College Students LinkedIn Guide to Creating

✨HAPPY NATIONAL THANK A TEACHER DAY✨ I am really looking forward to talking to my students today about the importance of gratitude and the power of two simple words: thank you. So often (and by no means just in school) we are defensive towards gratitude: ‘They should do that’; ‘That’s their job’; ‘It’s what they are paid to do’; ‘Why should I say thank you?’ I think it’s so important to be engaging with conversations like this, particularly when those conversations aren’t always at the forefront of the information that is being spread. I am still grateful to my Doctor even though they are ‘paid’ to look after me. I am still grateful to the people who picked my shopping through click and collect even though that’s their job; it meant I could spend longer with my Nan who lives alone and that had a massive impact on both of us. It is so important to discuss the importance of gratitude because it is such an important pillar to our community. So today, I am going to make sure I am modelling that gratitude, both to my students and to my fellow teachers. I am going to show the power of ‘thank you’ and discuss why, even though I don’t need to say it, it is so significant that I do. So, what are you going to do this National Thank a teacher day to promote gratitude? And, of course, there’s no better way to sign off this post but with a massive THANK YOU.
