All CTAM Europe Members are invited to register for this week's #webinar Simon Murray, Digital TV Research will present on the Global OTT Trends and how the arena is changing once again. There is now much more caution in the market, with several platforms cutting back or at least delaying their global rollout. Many platforms are also lowering their content spend. A good summary of my pre #MIPTV conversation with Variety’s Ben Croll: it certainly feels like the point of TV markets is having to shift and change. And the boundaries between scripted and unscripted are maybe blurring in more ways that we could have foreseen - stylistically, in terms of economic and production models, and in terms of the value of formats in both?

Format Creator, Executive Producer, Director, Mentor @ Jonathan Glazier Media Ltd | Leading Digital Media & Television
This is of course a very accurate summary of the industry at this moment in time. It contained those word dreaded by all of us wedded to content and its creation. “Fewer Bigger Better” a translation is rather bleak, less work, smaller industry. I am am advising all my students and colleagues in the 65% of unemployed freelancers to look at alternatives. There is no sign of a bounce back personally I don’t think there’s any chance of a bounceback. The trusted producers of reality, drama, true crime, documentary and factual will survive, they will have work in abundance. The smaller and newer companies will struggle. The creatives will survive but freelance crew are going to find it tough. Fewer jobs, less well trained workers and I can’t see much that is better for our industry work force. We have to embrace the changes and move on. Surviving intact is the priority, remembering our transferable skills imperative and finding support from our loved ones. If your creativity has to be diverted to hobby status so be it. That’s exactly where I started, and I loved it!

Let's Unravel Data Together! | MSc Business Analytics | CFA Charter Holder | Aspiring Data Analyst | Strong Analytical Acumen | Proficient in SAS, Python, R, SQL, and MS Office | Problem Solver
We are back with a new episode of our Inside Content podcast series! On this episode, our EVP Jack Davison is joined by Málnay B. Levente, EVP/MD of AMCNI Central and Northern Europe, for an in-depth discussion about AMC's growth, thematic channels, digital initiatives, and a new free TV channel in the Czech Republic. Some key takeaways: 1) Linear TV remains resilient in Central and Eastern Europe due to its value proposition. It offers a wide range of channels at an affordable price, making it a preferred choice over streaming services, which are seen as supplementary. 2) Streaming services are becoming more popular in Central and Eastern Europe but are seen as an addition to linear TV rather than a replacement. The impact of the streaming revolution in this region differs from the US and UK, where cord-cutting is more prevalent. 3) The focus on originals and sports rights is crucial for AMC in Central Europe, with a strong lineup including Champions League, NBA, and UFC. Local original productions and sports content are key pillars for the company's strategy in the region. 4) AMC's focus in Central and Eastern Europe is primarily on non-fiction content like lifestyle, cooking, and documentaries. They have a studio capacity for local productions and have won awards in various countries outside the region. For more insights, listen to the podcast here ➡️ https://hubs.la/Q02F_2qz0
