Senior Regional Economic Inclusion Officer for Eastern Horn and Great Lakes Region in Africa at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency
I am delighted to share insights from a meaningful meeting today, where Mamadou Dian Balde, UNHCR’s Regional Director for East and Horn of Africa, and sara mbago-bhunu, IFAD’s Regional Director for East and Southern Africa, came together. Our discussions focused on enhancing collaboration to address the pressing challenges of poverty, hunger, and the climate crisis impacting forcibly displaced communities and returnees. In the East and Horn of Africa and Great Lakes region, we are witnessing an unprecedented surge in forcibly displaced individuals, with 5 million refugees and asylum seekers, 14.5 million internally displaced persons (IDPs), and 371,000 refugee returnees recorded by the end of last year. These communities urgently require durable solutions for integration into national food systems, as well as access to livelihood opportunities and agricultural value chains to generate income for their families. Together, we aim to make a positive impact and create pathways for these individuals to thrive and contribute to their communities. #Refugees #IDPs #ClimateAction #GlobalCollaboration

🚀 Exciting Times for Innovation and Ideas Management at Wazoku Crowd! 🚀 Before 2015, my entire life revolved around ideas and innovation management. It was during that time when I embarked on a journey to explore the concept of "Ideas Meet & Mate" - an intriguing notion of creating a vast network or ocean of ideas, where they could not only connect but also come together to give birth to entirely new and innovative concepts. As I delved into this concept while working on my book, "The Hidden Wealth of Companies," I encountered a significant challenge - the lack of well-developed software and infrastructure that could turn this concept into a reality. Despite the hurdles, my passion for fostering innovation and creative problem-solving kept me determined to find a solution. Fast forward to today, and I'm thrilled to witness the incredible initiative taken by Wazoku through Wazoku Crowd. They have truly embraced the essence of "Ideas Meet & Mate" by providing a platform where companies can openly share their challenges and invite ideas from anyone on this planet. The power of collective intelligence and diverse perspectives coming together is truly awe-inspiring! This inclusive approach to innovation management is a game-changer, as it not only fosters innovation within organizations but also empowers individuals to make a difference and be part of something bigger. One aspect that stands out for me is the meticulously managed evaluation process. Wazoku Crowd ensures that every idea receives a fair chance, and the best of the best are duly recognized. The recognition and reward for innovative thinking further motivate contributors to push their boundaries and unleash their creativity. I can't help but commend Wazoku for their dedication to nurturing a culture of innovation and problem-solving on a global scale. It's remarkable how they've bridged the gap between companies seeking solutions and the incredible pool of talent across the world. Simon Hill your vision and commitment to driving innovation are truly commendable. The impact Wazoku Crowd is making is undeniable, and I'm excited about the endless possibilities that lie ahead. If you haven't already explored Wazoku Crowd, I encourage you to dive right in and become part of this innovation movement. Together, let's continue to unlock the hidden wealth of ideas and drive positive change across industries and the world! 💡🌍 #Innovation #IdeasManagement #WazokuCrowd #CollectiveIntelligence #wazoku
