Companies and their marketing execution sides are under pressure to deliver quick and compelling ROI. But a lot of the time they get distracted and bogged down by the governance pieces—the things that need to be in place but that aren’t the end-game. This is where the need for flexibility and agility come in. Flexibility and agility allow for your business goals to be met, while governance and compliance allow for your processes to run. Normally you get one thing (flexibility) or the other (governance), and to get flexibility you almost always have to build it yourself. Without substantial in-house resources and a dedicated team committed to upkeep, you don’t really even get flexibility—you just get overwhelm. “Boxes” are left unchecked, and that quick and compelling ROI is slow and less-than-inspiring. Media companies often consider investing in new technology when they face platform challenges. However, new tech is only sometimes the solution. Correcting the people and processes behind it can be more efficient. Underutilization is a common problem, often stemming from a lack of documentation when "our tech guy" leaves. As someone who works with companies facing turnover and staff reductions, I find it fulfilling to provide solutions that eliminate staff distractions or even negative ROI disruptions. #technology #processimprovement #documentation #efficiency
