Advisor, Adjunct Professor, Speaker, Author, Coach: Ethical Leadership and Culture | Risk Management | ESG | Multi-Generational Teamwork | Burnout and Resilience
Congratulations to Jeremy Dean and his colleagues at riders&elephants for another impactful year of enhancing emotional self-awareness and the understanding of “emotional culture” in organizations around the world with R&E’s Emotional Culture Deck and other resources! As Jeremy says, “A high-performing culture exists not in the absence of emotions, but in the mastery of emotions.” Without an understanding of how emotions impact decisions and behaviors, we can’t be fully effective in driving positive change—as individuals, teams, or organizations. Earlier this year, I joined my colleague, Maren Gube, PhD, as a certified Elephant Rider Practitioner; and I’m proud to be part of this engaging community and trained in facilitation techniques that inspire candor, connection, and growth. Maren and I help individuals and teams enhance their emotional literacy and their connections by incorporating R&E’s tools and techniques into our workshops, covering a range of topics touched by emotional culture—including building resilience and thriving, burnout and stress management, ethical leadership, creating speaking-up cultures, leading effective teams, multigenerational collaboration, and others. If you’re interested in learning more about our work, please check out our Resiliti website (https://www.resiliti.com). You can learn more about R&E’s work and offerings in their comprehensive 2023 retrospective, below, and on their website (https://lnkd.in/eHFY6fsF). #EmotionalCulture #Emotions #PsychologicalSafety #EffectiveTeams #Collaboration #WellbeingAtWork #EmotionalLiteracy #CultureChange #EthicalLeadership #Inclusion #Belonging #Thriving #Resilience #Burnout #Innovation #Integrity

Founder of House Pickleball | Branded & Custom Paddles | Passionate about Expanding Pickleball's Reach and Engagement among Gen-Z
This weekend, We are thrilled to co-host "Pickleball & Pickles for Singles" with Schoolyard Social and Fourplay Social. It’s all about getting people together 🏓 🤝 Stronger Together: We almost never go at it alone. Partnering with other like-minded businesses not only makes these events possible but also a lot more fun! 🌟 More Than Just a Game: At House, we're not just selling paddles; we're cultivating an active, social lifestyle. These meetups are a great way to connect, meet new people, and share our passion for Pickleball 🤔 A Curious Trend: Women’s tickets sell out fast while men’s tickets often fill up last minute. Why do you think that is? Are women more outgoing, or is there something else at play? Guys, we need your thoughts—and your presence at the court! #Pickleball #SinglesEvent #CommunityBuilding #ActiveLifestyle #HousePaddles

Michael Shepherd, Managing Partner of The Shepherd Group, joins The5 to talk about Public Relations for Nonprofits. Public Relations often gets overlooked by nonprofits as they focus on their mission, but building awareness of the brand is critical for both mission and donations. Hear from Michael on critical points that a nonprofit should consider to grow the awareness of their nonprofit. Financially savvy advisor to the C-suite with extensive experience in branding and corporate communications. Unique value proposition: The ability to increase enterprise value through alignment of comms strategy with business goals. The increasing complexity of marketing communications has made it exceedingly difficult for internal marketing departments to stay on top of new and emerging platforms and technologies. Internal training programs can’t keep pace with the evolution of the marketing tech stack - particularly in the lower middle market. Second, More often than not, it’s not the core business of the company. People are dragged into areas that are not their core expertise. Using research and data-informed insights, I develop strategy and content that supports targeted business outcomes. I work with clients to identify key success metrics up front and utilize post-launch analytics to track results and refine messaging throughout the life of the campaign. The end result is better ROI - and accountability. The5 is a celebration of the work being done by nonprofit professionals, highlighting valuable tips and methods that nonprofits should be utilizing. The5 is aptly named as NMBL Strategies celebrates our 5 year anniversary. Host Eric Moraczewski leads guests on a journey of topics that are of deep importance to the guest and discusses how nonprofits and nonprofit leaders can benefit from the experience and expertise.

Creative Director, Aspire Marketing Agency. Run Club founder. Building community here in Appalachia. Aspirations to farm.
Did anonymous surveys with Christiansburg Run Club to see what we’re missing as a club. Some commonalities: ✅ People like using Slack and don’t interact much with “social media” or our newsletter if given the chance. ✅ People want social events (they said ‘cookouts’ or ‘happy hours’) that don’t center around running or walking. ✅ Want more info on routes and safe places to run—so they can do their own thing vs. attending club events. Neat feedback! A lot of little tweaks we can make to improve.

𝐐𝐧𝐀 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬! Meet Lorna Vythilingum, Membership Director. 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: What strategies do you plan to implement to foster a strong and engaged Rotaract community ? 𝐀𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫: First of all, I would like to create a welcoming atmosphere for new members by organising team-building activities and pairing them with mentors or fellow members. I believe this would make them more comfortable which would encourage them to interact with other Rotaract members to form personal connections. To further engage everyone in our community, I would like to collaborate with other Rotary clubs for mentorship programmes, community service projects and networking opportunities. This will not only contribute to the personal and professional growth of our members, but will also strengthen our relationship with other clubs. In this regard, it would foster a sense of purpose and shared values that will appeal to our members. Moreover, I intend to establish a feedback system to better understand member preferences, concerns, and suggestions so as to improve our service. Lastly, I intend to emphasize on the acknowledgement and appreciation of our members for their contributions through awards, certificates, or public recognition during meetings. I believe this would convey the sense of community ownership and engagement which is one of the values that our Rotaract preaches.

People, lets have a look. I spent a super afternoon on the 30th December at the Leicester Riders photographing people. Leicester Riders are the longest established professional basket ball team in the country, that is heritage and experience so for a very long time, people have been turning up and paying to watch. You see, that connection right there, people will pay to watch so they are both emotionally and financially invested. Why? Many people like sport, many watch, many pay to watch because there is that sense of belonging to something bigger, being part of a team, supporting a team because when they win, everyone feels better. Leicester Riders have many supporters and many companies who sponsor at various levels, all of which supports the team to be able to be the best it can. Robert Paternostro has been head coach for 15 years, that is a huge investment by him, true dedication and this also generates a feeling of family because he has dedicated himself to the team, so others feel they can do the same, Rob is a great example of team work. I photographed Miryne Thomas as he gave a post match debrief to the sponsors, a lovely way of saying thank you and he is a delight to listen to, so enthusiastic! People love recognition and being part of something that makes them feel good. If your business aspires to do that, let's have a chat as there are lots of things we can do to help, if you are already doing it, there are lots of things we can do to add more value, either way lets have a chat! #employeerecognition #employeeengagement #businessculture #employeeretention #hrcommunity #haversbusinessphotography #peoplematter Canon EMEA Pro
