☆ Ferrari keeping its glory alive... ☆ Is it, though? Only time will tell. For now, there is evidence they aren't, but I'd love to be alive and still bare my witts in 60ish years to see how today's Ferraris would be regarded then, because one thing is certain... most of their cars nowadays fall into one of two 'Botoxed Universes': 1) 'Unicorn Ferraris': Bought in frenzy by die-hard, uber wealthy fans who think first of not losing a production spot, then about the car itself. Sold second-hand, most often five-to-ten years later for twice the money (with luck), or in the rare event of a truly special example, only when the original owner dies. This Universe has always existed, in fact, it's how the company started - making roadcars with spare racing parts. It's spirit, however, is dwindling. Unicorn Ferraris are being birthed too often, and unnecessarily so. Of course, they boost the company's image and make money, even if indirectly, but it's clear the vision is to boost sales and make a 'lifestyle brand', not the ultimate dream sports car... and that... that doesn't sit well with me. I'm sure even Enzo himself (and Montezemolo) would agree - no SP3 can live up to a good old, fire-spitting F40. 2) 'Playboys & Speculators': • Playboys: they want the newest Maranello toy to show off and attempt mating (usually they can only afford the cheaper V8). The problem is that there is always someone with a nicer toy, and Ferrari knows this, which is why there is a new V8 model every two weeks. In fact, diluting Ferrari's core values to become said 'lifestyle brand' is the reason we no longer have 'the true godfather', Luca di Montezemolo, at the helm. • Speculators: these want to make a quick (and handsome) buck on certain 'special models'. This, of course, only works if said models are truly special to begin with. Currently, I'm affraid, this tactic tends to fails. As most new Ferraris are, quite frankly, overly-complex, boring, overpowered, and over-assisted ways of getting headaches and being sued, most sensible people stay clear of them, leaving only extremely new-money, status-symbol-chasing, obnoxious-and-proud as potential customers, with the odd 'old fan' thrown in. What does someone with a very expensive and specific car do when they either didn't like it or bought it to sell for a profit, when faced with a pickle such as that? Sell it to the developing world. This becomes obvious when we realise that a large chunk of the SF90's; that supposedly amazing, €430k, 1.000hp hybrid Super Ferrari, are currently listed for sale 'second hand' with fewer than 1.000km on the clock. Why? 1.000 km is the cut-off line for importing new cars into most developing countries. Not so glorious, as it seems... #automotive #automotiveindustry #automotivenews #automotivemarketing #marketing #branding #strategy #cars #car #carshopping #ferrari #maranello Cars & Bids Car and Driver Magazine Top Gear Publishing

FERRARI PORTOFINO M, Koper, Slovenia. Ferrari Portofino M is one of the most fascinating and powerful GT spiders in the world which replaced its predecessor, the Portofino. M stands for “Modificata” (Modified). Ferrari engineers increased the power by 20 horsepower from 600 horsepower to 620 horsepower. The Ferrari Portofino M is one of the best convertible. It is a car that you can drive comfortably every day, with performance that should be reserved for the racetrack. The powerful convertible offers the option of opening and closing the metal roof. You can zip down the roof in less than 15 seconds at speeds up to 40km per hour. The roof is sloping all the way back to the rear spoiler. It is a very clever styling trick, achieved by giving the boot lid an upward slope to meet the rear of the folding aluminium-and-composite roof. The Portofino M is a super sports car with a convertible-coupé body, with high performance, luxury and elegance. With the roof open, the car offers the pleasure of dynamic driving with the wind in your hair. The 2 + 2 convertible version allows a comfortable ride for the driver and front passenger and two passengers in the rear seats, which offer limited comfort and are suitable for driving shorter distances. The car has a state-of-the-art safety system to assist the driver in driving and is completely controllable. The adjustment dial, Italian manettino, which is mounted on the steering wheel, inspired by the controls found on Formula 1 steering wheels allows adjustment of driving to wet, comfort, sport, race and esc off. The 3.9L twin-turbo V8 engine mounted at the front, gives the car excellent performance, the Portofino M is capable of accelerating from a standstill to 100 km per hour in 3.45 seconds and sprints from 0-200 km per hour in 9.8 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 320 km per hour. Alfa Romeo recently announced that the name of its new B-SUV will be "Junior." This choice has sparked a great deal of discussion, with some people praising it and others criticizing it. Regardless of personal opinions, it is important to underline that change is inevitable. The automotive world is constantly evolving, and brands must adapt to the new market demands. Alfa Romeo is no exception, and the choice of the #Junior name is just one of the many examples of how the brand is trying to reinvent itself for the future. However, this change should also make us reflect on the value of vintage cars. The GT 1300 Junior, for example, is a highly sought-after car by collectors today. Its value has increased over the years and will continue to do so in the future. This is because vintage cars represent a piece of history. This is why it is important to preserve vintage cars and pass them on to future generations. We can do this by investing in vintage cars, participating in rallies and vintage car races, or simply by telling the story of these cars to our children and grandchildren. The choice of the #Junior name for the new #AlfaRomeo is an opportunity to reflect on the past, present, and future of the brand. It is a sign that Alfa Romeo is looking to the future, but it is also a reminder not to forget its rich history and tradition. #AlfaRomeo #Milano #Junior
