Happy National Education Day! Today, we celebrate the importance of education in shaping our future and the future of our nation. Education is the key to unlocking our potential and achieving our dreams. It empowers us to make informed decisions, solve problems creatively, and contribute meaningfully to society. On this day, we also remember and honor the legacy of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India's first Minister of Education. Azad was a visionary leader who laid the foundation for India's modern education system. He believed that education was the key to national progress and social justice. In today's rapidly changing world, education is more important than ever before. We need to equip our students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the 21st-century workplace. We also need to foster a culture of lifelong learning, where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential. On this National Education Day, let us all recommit ourselves to providing quality education for all. Let us work together to create a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. #NationalEducationDay #EducationForAll #RightToEducation #QualityEducation

https://lnkd.in/ewdgJX4Q Recently, the University Grants Commission (UGC) paved way for Foreign Higher Educational Institutions to establish and run their campuses in India by following some norms (they are indeed light and much flexible). This move is perceived to bring about a positive impact on the overall competitiveness and quality enhancement of higher education in India. However, it may also pose a challenge for existing Indian institutions as they now face the challenge of losing quality manpower, admissions (especially at PG level), and reputation to these foreign institutions. In order to effectively manage these challenges, it is imperative for Indian institutions to adopt strategic measures. This could include investing in faculty promotion strategies, strong industry tie ups, promoting research collaborations, and enhancing the overall academic and infrastructure facilities. Furthermore, Indian institutions must also focus on improving their global rankings and brand image to attract students and retain their reputation as esteemed institutions. Overall, while the UGC's guidelines may bring about healthy competition in the higher education sector, it is crucial for Indian institutions to proactively work towards maintaining their position and reputation in the global education landscape. #highereducation #university #india #foreigneducation #globaleducation #competition #manpower #admissions

“Ab yeh mithai bechnewaale degree bechenge? These were the jibes we were subjected to when we expressed an interest in establishing our University… My father ran a sweet shop and was the one who invented ‘motichoor laddoo’. I’d also go to the shop to help, but growing up, I diversified into an Automobile dealership… And when the thought of ‘what next’ came to mind, I thought of establishing a private professional higher education University in Punjab… Since there was no precedent, we had to fight hard, we even tried to pass a bill in the Assembly, but we were opposed vehemently… But eventually, the bill got the CM’s support—that’s how LPU came into being!” Ashok Kumar Mittal, Chancellor of Lovely Professional University, is a visionary who has carved a remarkable path in the education sector. From his humble beginnings in a family where his father ran a ‘halwai ki dukaan’ to becoming a pivotal figure in higher education, Mittal's story is inspiring. It showcases his unwavering commitment to transforming education in India. In this exclusive interview, Ashok Kumar Mittal gives us insights into the business of education as well as his journey to getting there. On the occasion of National Education Day, it is of utmost importance to reflect on the disconcerting state of India's school education system. The most recent Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2.0 has exposed a troubling pattern: every one of the 28 states and eight union territories (UT) in the country has scored below 50% in terms of learning outcomes and quality, marking a substantial decline from the previous assessment. Even the poorest-performing state in the previous evaluation managed to achieve a higher score of 57.78%. This situation underscores the immediate necessity for reforms and a renewed commitment to enhance the quality of education nationwide as we commemorate National Education Day and strive for a brighter future for our students. A story by Nupur Maley and Nuzhat Khan https://lnkd.in/dKGx8Q7G #EducationReform #QualityEducation #NationalEducationDay #LearningOutcomes #IndianEducation #EducationForAll #EducationMatters #EducationInIndia

Most of the Parents do all efforts and hardwork to get their children admitted in reputed & renowned private school from Elementary to Intermediate Level. Same parents and their children then again do all efforts and hardwork to get admission in reputed & renowned Government Institution/Universities accross India. The choice as per above two true prevailing situation clearly indicates that lot of reforms &quality improvements are needed in Privately Owned Higher Education Universities/Institution. Unfortunately every ranking( NAAC,NIRF, NBA,etc) can be taken by other means. All publicities and advertisement must be through the showcase of growth of alumni's,on-going students, corporate feedback, word of mouth,Track record of placement in actual term and contribution of institution to the development of the Economy. "Let others talks loudly and praise good about the institution",then we can say institution is doing good in real terms #studentsuccess #academicexcellence #schools #universities #privateschools #governmentofindia #advisors #vcs #parents #india #ugc

Director -IQAC | Professor -Marine Biotechnology I Former Registrar and Former Director Research | Author I Creative Writer | Academic Leader | Expert in Ranking and Accreditation | Higher Education Management
This morning, I received a message from a Professor regarding the considerations for growing higher educational institutions in India. In addition to his points, I strongly believe that certain measures must be taken to develop and sustain educational institutions. Firstly, it is crucial to continue implementing time-tested values and principles at the management level to ensure ethical and effective decision-making. Secondly, incorporating technology in the teaching-learning process can enhance the learning experience for students and make education more accessible. Thirdly, institutionalizing the core principles of ranking and accreditation can ensure quality education and attract potential students. Moreover, it is essential to orient all stakeholders towards institutional commitments and involve them in shaping the institution's vision. Additionally, prioritizing relations with alumni and industry can provide valuable support and resources for the institution's growth. Finally, capacity building of teachers through training and development programs can result in a highly qualified and competent faculty, ultimately benefiting the students. These are my viewpoints for developing and sustaining educational institutions, but I welcome any additional perspectives that can contribute to the growth of higher education in India.
