I met the most wonderful women as a panelist at last night's Leadership Women event on Women Leading in Sustainability and Equity! Thank you Melissa Lee for highlighting my comment about investing sustainably: "If resources continue to flow to problems, we get more problems. If resources flow to solutions, we get more solutions."

Going into today inspired after attending Leadership Women’s panel on Equity and Sustainabily at Atlanta Regional Commission. It’s been a difficult few days on campus at UGA, but last night reminded me of the power that women hold. We are uniquely qualified to make a difference in a world that’s been doing things the same way, for a long time. In my handful of notes, this one rings truest for me as a fundraiser:
If resources continue to flow to problems, we get more problems. If they flow to solutions, we get more solutions.
Thank you Shannon Caldwell for inviting me and to Donna Finale, Anna Roach and Nancy Sagar for sharing your experience!

Go to High School Go to College
The "Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College" program, established in 1922, concentrates on the importance of completing secondary and collegiate education as a road to advancement. Statistics prove the value of this extra impetus in making the difference in the success of young African-American men, given that school completion is the single best predictor of future economic success. Through the Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College educational initiative, young men receive information and learn strategies that facilitate success. Alpha men provide youth participants with excellent role models to emulate.

Great to see WGU Labs' own Betheny Gross present our research on employment trends in rural northwest regions!
According to Betheny, “Rural economies, once dominated by agriculture, are now more diverse, with talent working across health care, education services, retail, manufacturing, finance, and more. Our analysis shows that this evolution over the past 50 years has not only continued but may have taken interesting shifts as a result of the pandemic. As millions of workers shifted from offices to working from home, many observers suggested that this could be an economic boon for rural populations.”
