When women participate in activities that are typically dominated by men, they challenge gender roles and contribute to the development of their community's economy. Nuru Nigeria and GIZ Nigeria & ECOWAS's livestock-rearing activity allows women to diversify their income streams and increase their financial independence. https://loom.ly/ivWakYs

There is need to address barriers hindering women's entrepreneurship in Uganda. These include lack of start-up capital, societal norms, and unequal bargaining power within households. These obstacles significantly impede women's economic participation and underscore the urgency of addressing both financial and socio-cultural barriers. #GenderEquality #UgandaVNR2024

A great platform where you can make your organisation to be known
As part of effort to improve equity in access to women empowerment programmes in Nigeria, Viable Helpers Development Organization is leading the development of a Digital Women Empowerment Hub. This hub when completed will provide a one stop online shop available in the three main local languages where people can go and learn about programmes accepting applicants, find and share information with other collaborators. The hub is still in development, however we implore women organizations in Nigeria to submit information on their organizations by scanning the QR code in the link. Please include a functional email address which we would use in reaching you. Thank you. As the Chairperson for the Bank of Uganda #Gender Inclusive Finance Working Group from 2023 to 2028, I am honoured to lead a team of dedicated professionals committed to transforming financial and digital literacy in Uganda. Our overarching goal is to foster an inclusive environment where everyone has equal access to financial tools and services, regardless of gender. Our mandate is underpinned by an ambitious agenda that aims to accelerate and support strategies geared towards enhancing financial and digital literacy across all genders, improving access to financial tools and digital devices, particularly for women and girls, developing and scaling gender-responsive financial services, and partnering with key stakeholders, including government ministries, private sector players, and funders, to amplify our impact. To achieve these goals, we are actively seeking partnerships and support. We invite potential funders, private sector entities, and stakeholders in the financial ecosystem to join us in this transformative journey. Your involvement is crucial; we can build a more equitable and inclusive financial landscape in Uganda. We would like to invite you to join our working group. Your expertise and support can contribute to our collective success. Under my leadership and with the support of our dynamic team and partners, we are committed to creating sustainable and impactful change. By December 2028, we aim to have implemented pivotal programs and set a benchmark for gender-inclusive finance globally. We remain steadfast in our commitment to empowering individuals with the tools they need for financial independence and success. Together, we can change the narrative and pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future. #FinancialInclusion #GenderEquality #DigitalLiteracy #FinancialLiteracy #BankOfUganda #Leadership #40Days40FinTechs #WomenInFinTech #IncludeEveryone #LevelOneProject #MadeOfGOD #JoinUs HiPipo Miller Abel The World Bank John Mark Ssebunnya Frederick Wamala - Ph.D, SABSA, CCSP, CISSP Ariel I.
