Sharing this important event organized by the AIA International EP group. Thank you Michelle Montgomery, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP for organizing this: The 2024 AIA International Mentorship Program will welcome NCARB tomorrow Wednesday, June 26th at 9 am EST to discuss licensure to an international audience. The group will review how licensure is achieved in the US as well as different paths created to obtain licensure, particularly if you are a foreign architect coming to the US from abroad. This will be an interesting opportunity to learn more about NCARB, their efforts on the international stage and ask questions during the Q&A on your area of interest, like the recent MRA signed in the UK, or what NCARB is doing to create different paths to assist architects to achieve licensure in the US. This session is open to all who are interested to attend, please join us. The zoom link for this AIA International session is: https://lnkd.in/eaY2jGDk

🌿🌊 SustainForward: Navigating the Future Summer Series - Lunch and Lectures with Dr. Claire Nelson- DAY 3 🌿🌊 From June 5th, World Environment Day, to June 8th, World Oceans Day, we embarked on an inspiring journey with Dr. Claire Nelson, exploring sustainability and our collective future. 🌍✨ Day 3 Recap (June 7th): We explored the concept of becoming change makers, the future of the legal profession, and the importance of a shared vision for global justice and sustainability. Dr. Nelson introduced the idea of a Center for Law and Society, which would focus on addressing the legal aspects of sustainable development. This center would aim to equip legal professionals with the knowledge and tools necessary to advocate for environmental justice and policy changes. We discussed plans for a workshop designed to cultivate change, providing participants with practical skills and strategies to drive sustainable initiatives in their respective fields. Dr. Nelson's concept of "movementology" and her principles for being a changemaker provided deep insights into creating sustained forward movements. She shared inspiring examples of successful movements and the pivotal role of individuals in driving systemic change. We also highlighted the transition of power structures and the need for individuals to see themselves as co-creators of a sustainable future. The session emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the role of legal frameworks in supporting sustainable practices. 🔄🌟 Watch the Day 3 Session: https://lnkd.in/eK7RDTXF Passcode: 8SFd^W*P Join us as we continue the conversation and build on these insights throughout the summer! How do we start 𝚜𝚞𝚛𝚏𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚒𝚗𝚗𝚘𝚟𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗, instead of fighting against the tide? Here are 3 innovative approaches that architects can use to align emerging technology solutions with business objectives: 1/ 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 Architects should be on the lookout to introduce emerging technologies that can address business objectives and recommend their implementation. - Your stakeholders want to hear your voice. 2/ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 (𝗣𝗢𝗖) 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 POCs help architects evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of emerging technology solutions in addressing business objectives. - Speak in code when you get the chance. 3/ 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 Architects can collaborate with external partners, such as technology vendors or consultants, to identify and implement emerging technology solutions that align with business objectives. - Authority speaks volumes.
