All eyes are on Houston and we couldn’t be happier! United as an airline is growing at an impressive rate and continues to invest in Houston. United is a power player in #HTX as one of its largest employers with more than 14,000 hard work employees making sure our more than 400 flights day get travelers to their destinations safely. This week, we held an impressive #UnitedNext event celebrating the many things happening at our Houston hub. We’re talking a $2.6 billion renovation and expansion of Terminal B, a new United Club, an Early Bag Storage facility (EBS) as well as a new direct flight to GEO (Georgetown, Guyana). These investments also include the expansion of 40 gates to accommodate larger aircraft, resulting in a 40% increase in the overall number of people who can fly with us on peak travel dates in 2026. Our CEO Scott Kirby, our VP Phil Griffith, Houston’s Mayor Sylvester Turner, Houston Airports Director Mario Diaz and many more were in attendance to celebrate with us. I know when you look at the photos here you will see an event ( a fun one at that!) and when I look at the photos, I see the weeks of planning and the hard work of so many people who came together behind the scenes to see this through. All for the common goal of seeing United continue on the path of being the #1 airline! I am so proud of our Houston team for such flawless execution on the ground, I am beyond appreciative of the partnership and support received from the Houston Airport System comms team, our amazing local journalists, whom I have the pleasure of working with regularly, our local business partners, city officials, the list goes on. Running an airline and hosting two (yep two!) events at the same time is no easy thing, but like Beyonce, #TeamIAH performed like the super stars that they are and made it happen! So grateful to be part of such an amazing team! Check out Houston Chronicle’s coverage, https://lnkd.in/ggcNCvG5 #houston #aviation #mediarelations #publicrelations #unitednext #Houstonairports
