Waseem Ghannam ✔️ is doing the hard, intense and incredibly important work. He's a lot like me but has more patience. The chat (customer service) is bullsh*t they are bots (AI). You go into a circle of nothing until you tap out. He is 💯 right. 🧠 He's providing critical unique service(s) at all hours by keeping #patients OUT of the Emergency Room that has a much higher #cost to both the patient and the #facility. This #reduces the insurance company costs and increases #profit. 🧠 #UnitedHealth Group gross profit for the twelve months ending March 31, 2024 was $91.282B, a 9.77% increase year-over-year. 🧠 About Us: "At #UnitedHealthcare, our #mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system #work better for everyone. We #dedicate ourselves to this every day for our members by being there for what matters in moments #big and #small — from their earliest days, to their working years and through #retirement." 🧠 Sounds to me like the little guy and little things are not so easy to navigate. Yes you are a huge #group with many #providers like Wasseem, lots of employees, expenses, priorities, compexities of being so big, blah blah blah.....now pretend your a #patient in need or a family in crisis? #patientadvocacy #findyourwhy #accountability #mentalhealth #preauthorization #emergencyroom #urgentcare #accesstocare #missionstatement #underwriting
Dear patients….. Doctors, nurses, hospitals, nursing homes, PCP offices, urgent cares, etc, we all want to take care of you. I’m getting sick and tired of sitting here night in and night out watching folks make very hard financial decisions because they need to be treated but not ‘in network’ because Goliath is intentionally blocking access. I’m not going to stay silent on this anymore, my old residency instructor told me ‘you’ll never get in trouble fighting for your patients’ well I got fire in my belly and a #MouththesizeoftheSOUTH’ and I ain’t going anywhere, I’m digging these heels and fighting for my patients, my community. As an entrepreneur, I oversee Focus Physiotherapy, Verity Medical Assessments, Vision Diagnostic, and Community Rehab Network. I drive innovation and growth, embracing risk and advocating for the issues I care about.
Cutting Through the Red Tape: The Real Issue in Healthcare Efficiency Dealing with insurance companies in the United States is no different from the challenges we face with similar institutions here in Ontario, such as auto insurers, benefits managers the Financial Services Regulatory Authority and workers’ compensation insurance. Healthcare professionals are constantly frustrated and encumbered by red tape, which makes the system expensive to administer. Insurance companies and these middle agencies benefit by from encouraging a costly in an efficient process because they can charge more for premiums to make a profit while paying for the processes that they create. As strange as it sounds insurance companies net profit increases when systems are slow and inefficient. And it's that purposeful mismanagemet that costs us all money as consumers. This complexity not only increases costs but also results in higher premiums and greater profits for insurance companies. The ongoing debate about public versus private healthcare often misses the mark. The real issue lies in creating systems where healthcare professionals are hindered from delivering care efficiently. This inefficiency benefits insurance companies and middlemen, leading to higher costs and poorer care outcomes. Preferred provider networks, managed healthcare companies, and health benefit managers all complicate service delivery, creating obscene profits through inefficiency. To improve healthcare, we must put money and resources back into primary care and eliminate these middlemen. It’s time to let healthcare professionals operate freely and unencumbered, ensuring better care for all. #Healthcare #Insurance #PrimaryCare #Efficiency #HealthcareReform #OntarioHealthcare

𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰 In-House Health delivers tailored staffing and scheduling recommendations per clinical need and workforce experience, applied at the facility-, ward- and shift-level. Nurse leadership uses In-House to maximize the use of their existing #workforce and reduce the use of agencies and #marketplaces. We have been sharing insights with our followers and caregivers around the world. And we gladly continue doing that. This time, let's delve into a factor where our assumptions have indeed proven accurate, focusing specifically on the dynamics of discharges and admissions during any given shift within a #hospital unit. The discharge of patients returning home and the admission of new patients to the unit represent pivotal aspects of the unit’s operational flow. When we initially devised our approach to managing these processes, we operated under several assumptions regarding their significance. Admissions and discharges are critical data points for an algorithm predicting census on a hospital unit as they directly impact the fluctuation of patient occupancy levels. Tracking them will allow us to anticipate the influx of new patients, providing insight into future bed occupancy and resource allocation requirements. Moreover, through a comprehensive analysis of admission and discharge patterns, our algorithm can discern underlying trends and seasonality, thereby facilitating informed long-term capacity planning and #staffing adjustments. Our personalized approach minimizes reliance on external agencies and marketplaces, optimizing the utilization of existing workforce resources while ensuring continuity of care. One of our fundamental assumptions revolved around the direct correlation between the volume of discharges and admissions during a shift and the requisite workforce needed to adequately manage that shift. Through rigorous validation processes, we have substantiated the accuracy of this assumption. Nursing managers, in particular, have underscored the important role of admissions and discharges, highlighting them as key factors influencing staffing decisions during the creation of work schedules. On the ground, often, the impact of discharges and admissions leads to specialized staffing approaches, such as allocating dedicated #nurses, potentially as part of the shift, specifically tasked with managing admissions and discharges. Overall, our initial assumptions regarding the importance of admissions and discharges have been validated and emerged as central pillars in the efficient management of hospital unit operations. The ongoing staffing crisis in senior care is a major concern. While efforts are being made to address this issue, there's a risk that the current approach may not be feasible for all facilities. Many nursing homes have been struggling to hire enough staff, which is particularly challenging for rural facilities with limited candidate pools. These facilities could face penalties for not meeting staffing requirements. To tackle this problem effectively, senior care needs to be a more appealing career choice for healthcare professionals. By doing so, more dedicated and compassionate employees are attracted to fill these crucial roles. #SeinorCare #StaffingCrisis https://lnkd.in/gyY9ZNrG
