Imagine being told that your kidneys don’t function the same way anymore. The first time someone is diagnosed with an illness or condition, it can be incredibly overwhelming. That’s why Tim Fitzpatrick of IKONA Health are working to better educate, engage, and placate their patients through the VR headset they’ve developed. There is a considerable amount of education required to teach diabetic patients how to manage the disease. With the help of VR, patients are able to quickly learn more about the disease and which treatment options they have at their disposal. I walked away from the LSI USA ‘24 panel, “Advent of AI: What Will it Take to Drive True Adoption in Clinical Workflows?”, excited to see just how far Tim and his team will go. Who are some other founders and CEOs building incredible AR/VR/AI companies that deserve some recognition?

Tim Fitzpatrick, The innovative and modern approach of utilizing Virtual Reality (VR) technology has brought about a revolution in various industries and much appreciated for nephrology. VR has the immense potential to enhance patient outcomes, provide advanced training to healthcare professionals, and support immersive treatment options within the realm of Nephrology. By leveraging VR, individuals can overcome phobias and social anxiety that often accompany the learning process, resulting in a more engaging and effective educational experience. Excited!
