These facilitators play a pivotal role in nurturing local savings groups and empowering their communities. By leveraging the #VSLA methodology, the 3R Program is transforming savings groups into sustainable finance channels for smallholder #farmers. With internal savings and loans, farmers’ investments will flow into agricultural inputs and business diversification, enhancing living standards and fostering a more prosperous future for all. On April 18, IFDC celebrated its global 50th anniversary and 22 years in Benin with an Open Door event at its Cotonou office! At the Open Door Event, IFDC strengthened partnerships with many invited partners, from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands of Benin, who gave testimonials of their collaboration with IFDC, highlighting their continued support to ACMA3 in improving soil health and market access for smallholder farmers. From June 25 to 28, IFDC, together with Agriterra, conducted a capacity-building workshop to empower cooperative leaders supported by the BRIGHT project in Uganda to drive growth and innovation💡 With funding from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Uganda, BRIGHT is strengthening the capacity of savings and credit cooperatives (SACCOs) by linking them to financial institutions and input dealers, as well as facilitating access to markets. IFDC held national launches of the Soil Values program in Niger, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, and Mali, providing an opportunity to mobilize and establish a framework for collaborative action at the national level, in line with the program’s objectives. "We are reassured and confident in IFDC’s ability to implement this program, as it has proven experience in the design and implementation of large-scale agricultural projects and programs, particularly in the Sahelian context,” stated Dr. Dahir Muhammad Hashim, State Coordinator of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACRESAL) Program.
