Terahertz (THz) spectrum was identified at the World Radiocommunication Conference 2019 (WRC19) up to 450 GHz. This IEEE 802.15.3 publication is towards the implementation of THz communications for 6G.
I am glad to announce, that this week IEEE Std 802.15.3-2023 has been published, see https://lnkd.in/ewuNwJst. This is a revision of IEEE Std 802.15.3-2016 and incorportes amongst others the amendments IEEE Std 802.15.3d-2017 and IEEE Std 802.15.3e-2017 as well as channel plans for the spectrum identified at WRC19 up to 450 GHz. New IEEE 802.3cz-2023 Standard defines physical layer specifications and management parameters for multi-gigabit glass optical fiber automotive Ethernet. Thanks, SMTnet, for sharing the news of the final release of the new standard for #nGBASEAU by IEEE Standards Association | IEEE SA “As of today, the #IEEE 802.3cz standard technology provides the only existing solution for 25 Gb/s and 50 Gb/s single lane connections with 4 inline connectors and a maximum length of 40 meters in the car over OM3 multimode fiber,” stated Luisma Torres, Principal System Architect at KDPOF and active member at IEEE Standards Association. The IEEE 802.3cz-2023 (nGBASE-AU) standard has been designed from scratch with the goal of meeting stringent automotive requirements. The use of glass optical fiber improves power consumption. In addition, it is more resilient to aging problems.
