THOUGHTS REPOST I hired someone over 55. I kept thinking: - "He’s overqualified" - "He won't fit into our culture" - “He won’t understand our offering” But I did it. And he was an absolute pleasure to work with. He made a huge difference in the business. Employers: if you want good talent, consider "overqualified" candidates. Hiring managers are looking for a 20-year-old with 25 years' experience. This needs to change. All that matters is if the candidate: - Has the skills to do the job - Aligns with the values of the business Let’s stop age discrimination. Agree?

Lots of businesses will say they are open to part-time hires, but in reality when presented with someone who can do the job 5 days a week that person more often than not gets the role. I would love to see companies go all in and create real opportunities for Men and Women returning to the work force - if that is your business and would like to advertise the role- we can feature it in our newsletter free of charge- we have nearly 1000 extremely qualified candidates registered. Lets go!!!! #creativenatives

What’s the mystery behind Gen Z? What do they want from an employer? This seems to be a question most hiring managers continue to puzzle over and, while there’s no one size fits all solution for recruiting and retaining Gen Z employees, there are some tips we can offer. 💚 They think about work differently than previous generations When asked, “Where do you see yourself in five years?”, the Gen Z candidate probably won’t reply the way you think. The great majority of this generation actually don’t see themselves as your employee in the future – and that’s not necessarily a bad thing! Gen Z may not want to be your CEO one day, but they’ve got big dreams and big ideas, and they’re looking for an employer that will give them the opportunity to both learn and contribute during their time with the organization. 💚 They’re not afraid of change If you’re not following through on your promises, Gen Z’s not sticking around. They're curious and passionate and eager to try new things. It’s important to this generation that you’re true to your word, and they won’t hesitate to move on if what’s going on behind-the-scenes isn’t what they expected. 💚 They want to know what they’re doing matters It’s not all about money and perks for Gen Z – though, of course, that stuff’s nice, too. They want to be a part of something bigger, and to know that they’re doing good work that makes a difference. Because of this, there’s a ton of interest in roles with companies that specialize in things that help make the world a better place, like environmental tech, for example. Don’t worry, though - other organizations aren’t out of luck! You should, however, be ready to answer questions about your mission, values and how your company contributes to the local community. More questions about how to attract these superstars to your company? Give us a shout and let's make it happen! https://buff.ly/3PuAxya #GenZ #Hiring #Recruitment #Jobs
