What do Soundcloud, Volvo and Prezi have in common? Week 1 of Running Experiments to Test Ideas During my time at Krava, one of the important things I learned was the 1 week sprint. At the beginning of each week, we brainstormed ideas we wanted to test and had 1 week to decide to continue or not. So, why not do it in public for myself? Here are the benefits I see - A short way to gather thoughts. - Clearly defining goals. - A way to keep friends updated on what I’m doing. My idea thesis - Something that plays to my strengths ( Japan x America Bridge, Construction, Hardware, Engineering) - Something that answers the why now. What wasn’t possible before that is possible now. Mainly in regulation changes and technological advancements - Something I can get passionate about long term. Still trying to figure this one out. My plan with this series is to find a good startup idea for me to pursue for the next 5-7 years. So until then, I will be running experiments to test ideas.

Excited to share an outstanding experience from this weekend's Hackathon / Makeathon, hosted by the Design Engineering Society at Imperial College London. Guided by the expertise of judges from Huawei we delved deep into the intriguing theme: "How will we interact with machines of the future?" But the real question we explored went beyond this: How will machines interact with humans? This added layer of inquiry led to profound discussions and innovative ideas about the future of human-machine interaction. In a whirlwind of creativity and collaboration, my team and I developed a unique concept and brought it to life with a semi-functional prototype. I'm thrilled to announce that our hard work was recognized, and we emerged as one of the two winning teams! This experience was a fantastic blend of challenge, innovation, and teamwork, making me more inspired and eager for future opportunities in this dynamic field! Life Science is on the way to becoming MUCH more accessible, and it all started with about 5 lines of mathematics. Meet Clair Scientific, the startup consisting of Associate Professor Hugh Simons, IT Systems Architect Anders Clemen Jakobsen, and Electro-Mechanical Engineer André Bertelsen. Besides their titles, they are on the verge of making Life Science a lot more accessible for a great deal of scientists from all over the world. Together, the team has created the Nebula. A next-gen automated microscope that’s able to rock the boat within the world of R&D. You see, when a great idea comes about within the field of life science, that idea usually needs a key component - you guessed it— an automated microscope. Those automated microscopes are not exactly cheap to get your hands on, let alone use - because of the very sophisticated technology that doesn’t require human interaction. The problem is that these automated microscopes, due to their advanced technical specifications, are very, very expensive to acquire. So where does that put other startups, citizen scientists, or scientists from developing nations? Well, they have to rely on slower manual devices that are less precise, thus giving inaccurate results. But scientists and startups don’t have to do that in the near future.
