Fellow LinkedIn Community, I'm not someone who typically posts but I feel compelled and obliged to do so as a Jew, as an American, and as an Israeli citizen. Today marks the 4th day of a grave conflict facing Israel. Just 96 hours ago, on the sacred day of Simchat Torah, as we concluded the cycle of public Torah readings and embarked on a new one, HAMAS, a terrorist organization backed by Iran, committed heinous acts of violence, resulting in the tragic loss of innocent lives. Israel is currently under attack, fighting for her right to exist, and it is imperative that the people of Israel - feel the unwavering support from the global community. I'm asking business leaders and enterprises to join us in demonstrating solidarity by publicly declaring their support for Israel. Additionally, I urge those who can to consider contributing to any of the following reputable organizations, which are actively engaged in providing assistance and aid during these challenging times: 1. Over the past year, the number of people who help through volunteering, defense activities and support of the frontline has doubled. This growth is due to those who wanted to join in - the results of Gradus Research showed that the number of those who only intended to join in but did not do so decreased compared to last year. Military purposes have become the top charitable donations, with almost two-thirds of Ukrainians donating to them. Such a significant level of involvement in supporting the Armed Forces once again confirms the high level of trust in them. A few of us are reducing out book holdings. As we age and the Iron Laws of Geriatrics begin to apply, we all have to start thinking of downsizing. One of the guys called this a "Pre-Estate Sale," but we're making some amazing books available to other scholars. We started with Civil War books since these were at home. Next will be Special Forces, Unconventional Warfare, and international relations titles. Many books are signed, some numbered, valuable, and will increase in value over time. Purchasers making a donation -- of any size -- to the military-related organizations we support get a 25% professional courtesy reduction and we will make a 25% donation to the organizations we are trying to support. Scott Mann's The Heroes Journey will receive our donations in July and August. 28 July: We just posted new condition boxed sets of Civil War books. Please share widely. Our colleague Daryna Shevkalenko who lives and works in Sumy, has reached out to ask for our support in an important fundraiser to strengthen air defense and protect vital energy infrastructure in the Sumy region. We’re raising funds for additional spotlights to defend against drone attacks, as well as for enhanced protection of the city's energy infrastructure. This initiative is organized by the Public Fund "Sumy," a volunteer group established in 2014. Since then, they have raised over 10 million UAH for military support in the Donbas region.
