He regularly goes beyond what is expected and seeks out ways to make a large impact on our team. Read below to learn more about Kyle: Why did you choose to join the IDEMIA team? I wanted to be a part of a great company, and broaden my horizons to the security sector. Where are you based out of, how long have you been with IDEMIA, and what are your responsibilities in your current role? I'm based out of Columbia, TN, just an hour or so south of our Brentwood, TN office, I've been with IDEMIA since December of 2022, and currently I am a Quality Assurance Engineer III for the UEP and AppServer teams, but also have been helping out with the Capture Client team with their SRIP Kiosk efforts - my main responsibilities are: creating test tickets for said development efforts, helping test and triage issues for said teams, and help be a guiding hand for any of their testing needs. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why? If I had the opportunity, I'd like to go to Germany, I've never travelled abroad before and I'd like to visit the Berlin Wall. What skills are most useful to have in your current position and/or have you relied on to get you to where you are today? It helps to have an open mind, not everything is as straight forward and logical, you have to think outside of the box, and expect the unexpected. What's your favorite movie or TV show and why? House M.D. is my favorite TV show, I wanted to work in the medical field while growing up and this was the one medical drama that captivated me during my teenage years. Looking for a new role? Career Journey at Mlytics: Embracing Challenges and Learning Opportunities In today’s post, we will share Tina’s transit in her career journey at Mlytics, starting from her initial role as a Technical Support Engineer in the SOC team to her recent transition to the R&D team as a QA Engineer. 🚀 What was the moment you knew you'd made the right decision to work at Mlytics? I joined Mlytics as a Technical Support Engineer in the SOC team in August 2022. At the end of last year, I made a significant decision to transition to the RD team, taking on the role of QA Engineer driven by the desire to explore new work experiences. I faced various challenges during the transition to my new role. I am currently responsible for 2 different products and each of them has its own development speed which requires me to be able to fastly adapt to changes and priority tasks.  Fortunately, my colleagues and new leadership have been super helpful and always willing to provide guidance. Overall, Mlytics has provided a friendly workplace environment and opportunities for my personal growth. 🚀 Tell me about what has driven you to transfer to the different department and what you have learned from this experience? As I’ve always been motivated to become a QA engineer as my career path as I always seek opportunities to grow my technical skill further and learn more about our product. In my new role, I have the chance to participate in the early stages of product development, engaging with the product from different perspectives.  Throughout the development process, it not only allows me to understand how to enhance user experience but also provides insights into the considerations on the development side. 🚀 What do you enjoy about working at Mlytics? We have a modern office environment and flexible working options. For me, one of the biggest advantages of working at Mlytics is the open and collaborative environment. Teams communicate directly, and everyone is happy to help. This means we can make decisions quickly, which is crucial when dealing with customer issues. Being part of the SOC team, it’s critical to equip a good customer service skill as I always have to directly address customer needs and resolve their issues, hence the skills of “time management” and “problem solving “ also become very important. Here’s one thing I’ve learnt as a grad at Optus: The sundown rule 🌄 Which means that I return all calls, emails and messages by 5pm everyday. Why do I do this? Because I don’t think it’s fair to keep people waiting and guessing on my task progress. Most of my stakeholders are usually Optus employees, but I treat them as if they are Optus customers. If I haven't made any progress on a particular task, I would still send my “customer” a Teams message. 💬 “Hi Amy, I saw your email this morning about xxx, I didn’t have the time to work on this today due to other priorities but I’ll work on this tomorrow. Will keep you posted on the progress.” But what if you can’t provide a daily update because your update is dependent on other stakeholders' feedback/reply ? It took me some time to figure out how to manage this situation but here’s the solution I came up with: I ping the stakeholder, requesting them to give me the information that I need from them. (in some situations, I ask them for an ETA as well) If I hear back from my stakeholder, I would message my “customer” and share with them the update I received. If I don’t hear back from my stakeholder, then I send the below message to my “customer”: 💬 “Hi Amy, I have messaged Ben for XXX information, I haven’t heard back from him yet but I’ll share the information with you as soon as I receive a response.” Different stakeholders would have different expectations on responsiveness, and urgent tasks may require immediate attention. Let's talk about amazing experiences ✨ It's been a little over a month since I joined Sanofi’s employer brand team, and I've had the chance to go through an exceptional onboarding experience that made me feel like I've been working here forever (even some people didn't believe it was my first few weeks during onboarding sessions). What made it so special? Nothing as simple as putting the new joiner's needs at the center of all onboarding initiatives and empowering managers and teams to tailor the experience to the maximum. Here's my journey so far: Before joining: I had access to Appical, an app that provides useful information to understand a company of this size (structure, processes, key people, key locations). During my first day: I got access to all the tools, programs, and my personal buddy who helped me navigate the organization and answered all my questions. From my first week and onwards: I’ve embarked on a well-designed plan that helped me talk to the right people, embed myself in projects I need to work on, and visit our HQ in Paris (don’t miss the summary video) Thanks to Michele Pinna Hassan AlHindwan , Chartered MCIPD, Daniel Perkins, Audrey Clegg, and all the amazing Sanofians who have supported me over this first month and made this experience so enjoyable! Excited to share that I've successfully completed my probation period at Nord Security!🚀 It's been an incredible journey, and I'd like to share some profound differences I've encountered between my new role and my previous one in the FMCG sector: 🔵 Client Dynamics: In my previous role, I had the privilege of managing around 12 clients with higher response rates. It allowed for a more intimate and personalized approach, where relationships were deepened over time. Fast forward to Nord Security, where I now work at NordLayer with a whopping +200 clients, each with varying response rates. The challenge has been adapting to the diverse needs and communication styles of this larger client base. 🔵 Product Specialization: In my current position at Nord Security, I've had the unique opportunity to immerse myself in depth of a single product NordLayer. This has allowed me to develop a detailed knowledge of that product, allowing me to offer custom solutions and guidance for a client. This is quite the departure from my previous job, where I was responsible for over 800 different products. While I gained exposure to a wide range of offerings, it was challenging to achieve the same level of depth and expertise. 🔵 Global Engagement: One of the most exciting aspects of my new role is the ability to connect with clients from all around the world. Working globally has broadened my perspective and provided insights into diverse market landscapes and cultural nuances. In contrast, my last job primarily revolved around serving the Lithuanian market. The shift to a global client base has been eye-opening and enriching. I'm grateful for the opportunities and learning experiences that Nord Security has provided during my probation period. The contrasts between my previous role and my current one have enriched my professional journey, and I'm excited to continue growing in this dynamic field.
