I wrote this 👇🏼 for all those working in climate who want help understanding your SSP from your RCP…from your TCP 😛 Tried to cover off bits not seen in other explainers…. It makes sense to think of climate scenarios as made up of three components: socioeconomic + climate forcing + physical climate change. Many physical climate risk applications often only use the last bit. We often lack systematic data for incorporating the first bit - e.g., what flood plain building will Wigan allow under SSP1 but not SSP5? 🧐. This is best explored with - my favorite technique - storylines!
