Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs of America: The week of May 13th in the great city of Atlanta, we celebrated our 118th National BGCA Conference with over 3000 in attendance. The BGCA is not only an organization, it’s a MOVEMENT! Growing up a ���club kid” and serving as National Trustee, I can attest to the amazing impact this organization has on MILLIONS of boys and girls.  Next Generation Leaders (NGL): Yesterday, I had the privilege of speaking to an exceptional assembly of leaders from top-tier organizations. These distinguished individuals comprise the esteemed Next Generation Leaders Cohort in collaboration with #InspireCIO. Few things rival the pleasure I receive from sharing insights gathered from my professional journey, encompassing both triumphs and tribulations, with rising leaders. Bucket List Item: I completed my first quarter as an Adjunct Professor at The University of Washington yesterday. Teaching graduate students, there is a different level of expectation. My goal was to make the course content come alive by sharing real-life experiences to demonstrate the value of what they were learning. Last night our KansasCityCIO organization had an impactful discussion regarding a topic that some shy away from delving into these days. Having teams that are diverse, equitable, and inclusive where all team members feel a sense of belonging is important. It not only makes sense 🧠 but it also makes 💰 cents. I was honored to lead the discussion and thankful to the panelist and audience who authentically shared their perspectives. Special thanks to Kansas City Public Schools for being such gracious hosts and having an amazing facility for the discussion.

#Slalom #R4 2023 Conference: All the speakers were amazing, but the women were a “Speaker Hall of Fame” line up: Michell Obama Erin Brockovich Jacinda Arden Indra Nooyi … What an amazing group of speakers and attendees. It was great to see leaders/friends I had not seen in years and to meet several new friends. The breakout sessions were the topics that keep most CXOs up at night an the insights were relevant. I have never been to a conference where people were speed walking to get to the front.
