I need a legal advice from any individuals. I applied and submitted my CV for a civil engineer role posted by a contractor, but I was unsuccessful. However, the contractor used and attached my CV in all his Contract proposals to get contracts without my concern. The contractor was successful in few Contracts from 2021 - 2023. Now, I found out that the contractor have attached my CV to get contracts from other connections. What is the best step I can take towards this? #legal#advise#contracts#

My time at the City of New Orleans started right after the Hard Rock collapsed and ended nearly two years later after I graduated from university in civil engineering. The City of New Orleans Building Department is not much different from surrounding building departments. I think, in general, the inspection industry is comprised of many people who don’t know what they are looking at. The difference between the City of New Orleans Building Department and surrounding Building Departments is the scale of structures and the number of permits. My advice would be not to outsource the problem to someone looking to make a dollar. My advice is for the city to increase the salary cap, offer competitive salaries, and to hire experts in the industry with degrees (bachelor/master/doctorate) in engineering. Also, to invest much more time, effort, capital, and resources into training in-house staff. This is how the City can effectively grow a sustainable Department that can function at high levels of competency and consistency. During my time at the City of New Orleans, I advocated regularly for training for myself and training for others within the Department. Years later, although I have moved on to other ventures, my message is still the same: Train the employees on staff. Give them the opportunity to succeed. The Department needs to invest in itself. If you want green grass, water the grass.

"In the bureaucratic dance of town planning, the stage seems set for a comedic twist: where civil engineers, armed with technical prowess but lacking in planning education, find themselves cast in the role of town planners. Meanwhile, seasoned town planners, with their expertise and vision, are relegated to the sidelines, overshadowed by the sheer numbers of their engineering counterparts. A satirical commentary on the peculiar dynamics within the government's town planning department, where qualifications take a backseat to bureaucracy." #townplanning #urbanplanning

Is there a difference in access to the Quantity Surveying profession by those educated in South Africa compared to the UK? There is a difference! Quantity Surveyors educated in South Africa are more construction sites oriented, while those educated in the UK feel more comfortable in offices. The question is - Why?
