It serves as a reminder to us all, to consider the importance of environmental conservation and saving the planet for generations to come, a subject close to our hearts at Gailarde. 💚 This year we have once again been awarded Gold by EcoVadis for our sustainability practices. and this year's Earth Day theme, "Planet vs Plastics," aligns perfectly with our commitment to eliminate single-use non-recyclable plastics from our core product lines. Waste management is a top priority for us, we reuse cardboard boxes for shipments as much as we can and ensure that any waste generated in our cutting-edge warehouse facility is meticulously sorted, compacted, collected and fully recycled by specialised waste haulers. Today is World Cleanup Day - a day that brings together millions of volunteers, governments, and organizations in 197 countries around the world to tackle the global waste crisis and create a cleaner world 🌍 World Cleanup Day is held every year and is the world's largest civil event where people gather to clean the planet from waste 🧹 In Denmark, the environmental organization Plastic Change is responsible for mobilizing and engaging as many Danes as possible to participate 👨🏾🤝👨🏼 Plastic Change is also responsible for counting the number of participants as well as the number of kilos collected. The goal is to get 5% of the world's population to clean up. Plastic Change's vision is a waste-free society. With their work, they fight plastic pollution by reducing production and consumption by, amongst other things, promoting recycling. Last year, 60,000 tons of waste and 10 million cigarette butts were collected for World Cleanup Day 💪🏼 At BabyDan, we love the World Cleanup Day initiative and annually support Plastic Change in their amazing and important work 💚

Do you know what happens to the waste that you put out on the curb each week? Where does it go after it gets picked up? Does your state process the materials? Does any of it get shipped overseas? I spent the early part of this new year thinking about how I can affect change in my circles when it comes to waste reduction, a huge climate problem and huge financial opportunity that companies like Apeel and EcoEnclose are attacking head on. I can't stop thinking about waste reduction and how I can fix it. I'm starting by tackling problems in the recycling stream and identifying a path forward for organics recycling in my town.
