As extended stay hotels demonstrate popularity and resiliency during a “more dynamic than usual” last few years, leading hotel companies such as IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) are refining their brands and offerings to maintain relevance, differentiation and appeal. Extended stay properties experienced an inflection point during the pandemic as traveling essential workers required longer-term lodging. Owners in turn took interest as these brands proved strong and profitable during (and following) a disruptive generational event. Now, we’re seeing the momentum continue even as travel patterns normalize. Extended stay properties bring about a sense of familiarity, community and comfort through a homelike environment that resonates with travelers of all generations.

The hotel industry is buzzing! 🏨 Extended-stay hotels, where guests stay longer than your typical vacation, are the fastest growing part of the biz. Why? They offer great value for guests and are cost-effective to run. Big hotel brands are catching on, adding extended-stay options to their portfolios at a high pace. The secret to their success? Lower operating costs! Think about it: fewer room cleanings, less check-ins and check-outs, and fewer travel agent fees. Plus, they're using tech to become even more efficient, like digital keys for check-ins and pay-and-go retail. In short, extended-stay hotels are a win-win for everyone. They offer more bang for the buck to guests and higher profit margins for hoteliers. So, if you're in the hotel field, keep an eye on this trend - it's here to stay! 👀 💼 💡 #HospitalityIndustry #HotelTrends #ExtendedStay #Innovation #HospitalityLeaders

These companies entice customers with additional incentives to book through their platforms, giving them greater control over the entire booking process. If you consider how many choices there are for consumers when booking travel accommodations, the questions then become: ◽How does customer perception, brand awareness, and potential consolidation impact their choices? ◽How does the brand stand out and rise to the top within the crowded arena of booking choices? To thrive, it's essential to adopt a strategic, forward-thinking approach to maximize market position, property performance and asset value.
