As extended stay hotels demonstrate popularity and resiliency during a “more dynamic than usual” last few years, leading hotel companies such as IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) are refining their brands and offerings to maintain relevance, differentiation and appeal. Extended stay properties experienced an inflection point during the pandemic as traveling essential workers required longer-term lodging. Owners in turn took interest as these brands proved strong and profitable during (and following) a disruptive generational event.
