It’s just a charger right? Part 1
It’s easy to think that EV charge points are comparatively “simple” infrastructure, and that makes sense compared with say an offshore oil platform or a bio-refinery conversion. But I am leaning just how complex the roll out of 100,000 charge points can be, and happy to highlight some of the details which I find interesting, and demonstrate just what our amazing teams can do.
And I will always start with safety. On which note, I’m very proud of our Germany construction team who this week safely conducted the complicated lift you see in this picture - carrying a substation over an existing forecourt to power new chargers.
What you can’t see in the picture is the multiple site visits, detailed lifting plan and last minute risk assessments. You can’t see the coordination of subcontractors and systematic learning from previous lifts. You can’t spot the 100 years of construction experience in our team, or the skills of our specialist contractors and subcontractors.
Ultimately if you charge at one of our sites you may not even notice the substations or electrical pillars. Because it’s just a charger right?
Well, it’s much more than that really. But our teams make it look simple 👊
