Across our industry, there are a disproportionate number of projects and programmes that will be consigned to the scrap heap. There will be multiple reasons given for their apparent failure. However, despite the excuses, typically, when you scratch beneath the surface, there is one overriding factor in each case..... PEOPLE At BrightFrog, we only hire and use the best Project Managers, which is why we often get called in to "fix" the projects that other consultancies have struggled to deliver. https://lnkd.in/egsnsaq6

Owner at Enigma People Solutions - helping Electronics, Photonics and Semiconductor R&D teams identify and hire the technical leaders that are essential to their success.
Case study - Recruitment of a Project Manager The Shape Sorter... Project Managers come in all shapes and sizes, and this can make finding the right one for your client harder than you might first think. I remember when my daughter was a toddler she would play with a shape sorter, one of those plastic cubes with holes in them, each one different; a star, oblong, triangle, crescent, square etc, etc. She would have to work out where each piece fitted correctly. Some of the pieces would fit in different holes, but her task was to get them into the right holes. We had a brief from a technology design company to recruit a Project Manager who was experienced across a range of projects covering ideally different technologies and end products. Find out how we cracked that challenge: https://bit.ly/42ioTvy

🚀 Calling all Owners, Developers, Project Managers, Real Estate Managers, Construction Managers, General Contractors, Superintendents and Consultants! 🚀 Hey fellow industry professionals! I've walked in your shoes, navigating the twists and turns of our field, and I understand the frustrations that come with it. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or just starting your journey, your experiences are invaluable. Think back to those challenging days when you yearned for guidance. What hurdles seemed insurmountable? What frustrations could have been eased with the right training and mentorship? I'm embarking on a new project and your input is critical. Please comment or message me directly with your thoughts. Rest assured; your insights will be kept confidential. Here are five examples I have received previously from others: 1. **Complex Permitting Processes:** Battling bureaucratic red tape and navigating through intricate permitting procedures can drain time and patience, often resulting in project delays and cost escalations. 2. **Supply Chain Disruptions:** Wrestling with supply chain disruptions, from material shortages to price fluctuations, can throw project schedules and budgets into disarray, requiring nimble adaptation to stay on track. 3. **Communication Breakdowns:** Ensuring seamless communication among diverse stakeholders – contractors, suppliers, team members – is a perpetual challenge. Overcoming miscommunication is key to avoiding errors, delays, and project setbacks. 4. **Risk Mitigation:** Identifying and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle – be it safety hazards, regulatory compliance issues, or environmental concerns – demands foresight and proactive measures to safeguard against costly setbacks. 5. **Cost Over-run Management:** Striking the delicate balance between project budgets and quality standards is a constant juggling act. Unforeseen expenses, scope changes, and cost overruns can jeopardize even the most meticulously planned projects. Your insights will shape the trajectory of my project and might just help a few others along the way. Looking forward to your valuable input! Shawn

How do you bring all your employees together and have them all following the way, YOU the owner, wants the many tasks that need to be performed daily? Check out this video. #proaccel #constructionprojectmanagement #constructionoperations #constructionprocess
Helping Growth-Minded Contractors with Strategic Growth Planning and Improving Operational Performance resulting in Higher Profits and Sustainable Growth | Real construction experience with real construction guidance
If you don't have a plan, you're in the dark. Forgetting about the importance of having a clear plan is the first big mistake in project management. Even the best planners can't get out of the daily issues that will occur on a project. We must find ways to reduce same conversations being had every day on a project site, or even the office. As you hire new or replace existing employees, they'll only know how to perform their responsibilities as they previously did at your competition, NOT your way. It's crucial to have a set of "rules", or processes that clearly lay out how the many typical tasks of a project should go. When new team members join, a clear set of processes stops the confusion of different ways of working and makes sure everyone works together to finish the project successfully. I hate introducing red tape and I certainly hate bureaucracy, BUT we must find ways to bring everyone together and develop structure so everyone can follow the same path to the finish line for each project. Learn from it, tweak it, and continuously improve! What do you think? #constructionoperations #constructionbusiness #streamlineoperations #projectmanagement #proaccel
